Metal Gear Solid 4: Big three says best game ever made on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

Reviewers have said Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is one of the best video game ever made and that includes this gen systems such as PS3 and Xbox 360 all the way back to NES. High praises are given by the big three industry review giants: Gamespot, IGN and Gamepro. These reviewers have been in the industry for over 22 years. Practically most of us grew up reading their reviews.

These review sites are no slouch, especially IGN and Gamespot with their very strict 10 point scale. IGN has only 15 some games that have ever received a perfect score of a 10. They define only a game that is revolutionary or truly defines a genre deserves a perfect score such as Metal Gear Solid 4.

Gamespot is known to be even more strict in their scoring, only giving five games in their entire history back to 1996 a perfect 10. With the addition of Metal Gear Solid 4, that makes it a total of six games in their history of deserving a perfect score.

Gamespot and IGN both rate Metal Gear Solid 4 above other blockbuster games such as the Orange Box or Halo 3 which both received a 9.5.

I agree I don't care about most of the other reviewers and I always watched what IGN and GS gives games and the game deserved the scores it got.

Yeah, Gamepro is a crap magazine.

I always thought of the 'big three' as Gamespot, IGN, and 1UP. The latter gave MGS4 an A-, whereas they gave GTA4 an A+, just like Gamespot and IGN awarded their highest scores. Gamerankings seconds this view.

Gamepro hasn't been a respectable source for ages. The fact that they had the exclusive first US review makes their opinion even more circumspect.

Well One professional opinion ( as you claim ) said that MGS4 has stupid AI and the developers need to see what is the industry is offering, more shooting, less sneaking or something like that, do you want me ( a MGS fan ) to agree with this review? he don't get MGS series at all and his claim is way off because I can run and gun my way in MGS4 if I don't want to sneak anyways.

Whenever we use reviews, we're prioritizing some opinions over others. This thread chose Gamespot, IGN, Gamepro, and Famitsu specifically. He chose Gamerankings in general. Neither are objectively correct.

They are 4 respected reviewers that has history in the gaming industry, the only reviewer that I think of right now which is worth mentioning is Gametrailers.

As for getting lower average, it is because of the weak and new reviewers, it seems now anyone with no journialist background can write reviews just for the sake of being included in gamerankings and metacritic.

And who cares about them anyways? do you really go by reviewers other than the veterans in the gaming industry?

Hmm yes. Gamespot proved awhile back that professional veteran reviewers are worth more than their weight in gold. Gamespot is great for game information and a gamer hub but I no longer read their reviews. Gamepro isnt even a factor. IGN isnt bad but once again its more about the money than the honest truth.

Not saying MGS4 is bad. I bet it absolutely rocks. That dosent remove the atmosphere that the game isnt for everyone and it just might not be... perfect?
