Make jak or something else ND.
Everyone on SW hates Jak apparently.
Naughty Dog should do something new.
They literally worked on a new franchise with each gen and 2 on the last one (UC + TLOU). I think they deserve some slack and freedom to do work a bit longer on their own franchises. It's not like Sony made them a dedicated UC studio, TLOU wouldn't have happened if that were the case.
**** that, I want new things.
And of all the things that shouldn't get a gaming sequel The Last of Us is one of them. The plot had a sense of finality to it, there is no reason for a sequel narrative wise. Because that universe sure as **** isn't interesting enough to warrant it.
Preferably not a shooter.
Well they did make The Last of Us. So there's that.
Are you saying Last of us is not a shooter? Or... what
Yeah, It absolutely isn't a shooter. In almost all cases, shooting a gun is a really stupid thing to do. Of course, I played it on hard difficulty right out of the gate. Bullets are scarce and only used as a last ditch effort that usually got you killed anyways. Based on what I played, the game feels like an anti shooter 90% of the time. It's a stealth game.
I wish they would let TLOU stand alone. Unfortunately you have to cash in on that sequel every time.
So another uncharted dressed to look like something different? cool..
Let's be honest tho i'll probably buy it. Damnit.
This game will be good. When it launches, the PS4 will have 2 exclusives I want to play, unless something unannounced comes out first. Sony really needs another top-tier first party studio.
I'm predicting this will release in 2018, the PS5 will come out in 2019, and there will be a Remastered Complete Edition for the PS5 in 2020

Jak 1 was a good game, but it isn't as good as Uncharted 2 or The Last Of Us.

Nah, it's not a stealth game. For a start, playing the game entirely with stealth is not possible. There are straight shoot outs within the game. And even then, playing the game with stealth only is criminally boring. The same choke animation time and time again and the odd shiv if you have them. It's a third person shooter with stealth elements. The game is at it's best when you mix stealth, melee and gunplay into a coherent action sequence. But still, it's a third person shooter at heart. Get a loaded shot gun and you can start blasting everybody away Doom style.
@bobrossperm: Strange!!..did you play it on normal or easy ?!
i played it on Hard/Survival/Grounded with listen mod off like 7 times already
I played alot of it with stealth simply because the ammo was always scare....but when i get ammo or mele weapons i mix things up
Stealth kills and then blast some of them and hide again ...and wait for the right time and drop a smoke bomb and beat two or 3 of them and hide again when i get the chance and let the last one beg for his life befoew i blow his head off ...but i never had lots of ammo and on survival and grounded it's almost impossible to find resources.
The most fun i had with TPS with the brutal mele combat and the bloody gunplay..and loved playing cat and mouse with Enemies AI ..when the flank me or many times they surprise me from behind or when they hide in rooms and attack me
@Bread_or_Decide: This exactly. Hopefully they'll fix the AI.
i don't see we should not get a sequel, i am against sequel when they become annual shit like cod and assassin's creed, but i don't see anything wrong if they take their time, that said i do hope they improve on the ai, it was one of the first tlou weakest points.

The final moment in TLOU is so perfect. I just don't want to see it ruined. I guess they know what they're doing.
Naughty Dog should do something new.
Or something old. Turn back 12 years and make another fucking Jak and Daxter.
Much rather see that than TLOU 2.
This right here. Give me something new or go back to Jak & Daxter. The first game is one of my favorites of all time. I'm getting tired of Uncharted/TLoU.

true, as many have stated, i hope their story is over and they just pick different characters for the sequel.
I hope the sequel is set in the same world but different characters
Or maybe a prequel where you get to play as the rapist fella... so your character is voiced by Nolan North. Could make it like manhunt where you stand behind people longer for different ummm .
Naughty Dog should do something new.
Yeah they should do a sports game. I mean that's what all legendary developers do, they settle down, have kids, and make casual sports/party games.

My first play through was on hard. As was the new game plus playthroughs after it. But I have played the game in survival and grounded. Much harder yes, yet I still find myself using melee and gunplay quite a lot.
OH FFS.
If you're going to do more TSP story driven games, then atleast do another IP. TLOU isn't the kind of game that makes sense for sequels.
Drake's Uncharted universe is built upon disconnected storylines and an "Indiana Jones" style adventure, so sequels work fine.
TLOU is about teh personal relationship between Joela nd Ellie. If it's them again, then **** off
@Krelian-co: Odds are that regardless of what the story winds up being, other characters or not, it won't have the same impact. Joel and Ellie were perfect together and while the first aren't necessarily always the best, in this case it would a goal that would be impossible to surmount. The title would be a letdown from its inception.
So yeah. Game over if true.
How so?
Did you play TLOU?
Very recently. Good story/boring gameplay.
Well there are many, myself included, that enjoyed both. It will be the reason to buy a PS4 when it releases.

you see, i don't expect every game to be a 10, if the sequel is a 9, i would be cool with that.
@Krelian-co: it's less about it being a 10 and more about companies continually outdoing themselves. If you're going to make a sequel it needs to aspire to be better and to me TLOU was saved by it's story because it's gameplay wasn't anything special outside of the crafting system which I really enjoyed.
So unless the gameplay gets tweaked it won't be anything we haven't seen before, especially since the story is almost guaranteed to disappoint.
Does Naughty Dog still have the talent that used to make platformers like Jak games?
I want to see them take on a platformers or other genre than third person shooters. Or just go with an MGS like game where you can choose to no kill anyone and play the whole game without alerts.

well of course, i hope they aspire to outdo last of us, but realistically is very hard to outdo a game that was so critically acclaimed, i hope they do though, nothing would please me more, but expecting so is setting yourself for disappointment. Of course the gameplay will get tweaked, and i don't see why you are so certain the story will disappoint, they will most likely get a new angle for a new story, instead of trying to make joel and elly 2.0, because a story is different doesn't mean it will be worse, it is all about execution and i trust naughty dog.

Whatever, as long as they do something different.
Awesome.
Can't wait for the minority jaded hipsters to act too cool and claim it's a movie game and over hyped and "OMG YUCKY DUCKY!!!" like a 5 year old girl while the rest of us level headed ppl at the very least enjoy it for what it is and not for anything else.

you consider yourself level headed?
@SolidGame_basic: that doesn't confirm anything. He even said himself he isn't working on the project
@lostrib: YOU DID WHAT TO MY SISTER!?!?!?
What the hell is happening here lol
While I've never played the Last of Us, I think it looks great and certainly a game a PS gamer should give a try.
That being said, SHOULD it get a sequel? We all know that sequels generally don't live up to the hype we place in them from our experiences of the previous game. I fear that it might leave people disappointed.
