I think it's a known fact that the Wii is outselling everyone here. We know that. Why talk about it everytime? We know it. The PS3 vs. 360 is more interesting though, but I think everyone can agree the Wii will win. No need to say it for every month for the past 2 years now when NPD comes.

I think he simply meant that no body cares because it's the given. It's the only certain thing that you are going to see when looking at any NPD is that the Wii is going to be on top. Now, the 360 and PS3 switch spots all the time so I think that's what he meant.

Most people are just "over" the fact the Wii is still selling out. It's old news that continues to be new news, lol.

maybe its my region or something (los angeles), but i have been seeing alot more ps3 commercials lately... they advertised the X-Games alot... so they know their demographic

and i havent seen any commercials about the 360 price drop either

well I don't really think the price drop will have that much of an effect on August because I am hearing that lots of places are already sold out of their alotment of 20 GB 360's....and since that is now discontinued they will get no more and only have $349 60 GB 360's.

The rumored September price drop is the real telling grounds ($199 Core, $299 Premium, $399 Elite)

You guys that glare endlessly at these sales numbers moth-in-and-month-out (as sad as that is) and don't quite understand what you are even debating on these forums.

Think for a second about what MS has done over the last 7 years...

They pierced the market with the first Xbox, spending (thats right, spending, not losing) billions of dollars to build up a brand or "household" name for themselves...They established one of the biggest franchises the videogame industry has ever seen (Halo) as well as some others (Fable, Forza, etc...). They had about 30% market share last gen after 4 years.

Now, with the 360 they have expanded their 3rd party support (a lot mor Japanese devs, 3rd party exclusives, and time-exclusive titles). Their games division is more profitable than Sony's games division. They will end this gen with more market share than they had last gen (wether they are behind Sony, even with Sony or w/i 5% or so).

And I'm not even going into what they have done for online gaming and the industry in terms of alternative revenue streams for the games companies and even the little guys in the industry.

Has MS really lost anything?

I thought it was the greatest game ever made and that it was going to surpass Halo and GeOW sales in a record time, how is that going to happen when it's not even in the top ten in its SECOND month of its lifetime??!!! well....I guess PS3 owners came back to reality and continue to purchase BR movies instead of games!!

I really love the NPD results day, it's the only day where sales MATTER!! ha ha ha ha ha!

BTW, Wii is invincible, even when there are "no games" for the system, it's still the best selling console this generation!

Oh yeah MS definetly cares. The Xbox brand is sinking. Early on this gen they were talking about being first place this gen, now they are struggling and unless something changes fast will end up last again. They aren't spending billions because they don't care. Yes MS cares.
