It's official, GTA 5 is the best PC game of all time

And it's even better than Half-Life 2.

Anyway, not "official" official, but critics scores apparently do not lie.

Visit the GTA V Metacritic page and you’ll see that it has a 97% rating, based on 47 reviews of its new PC version. And it looks like our Matt was one of the people responsible for putting it there, so blame him (we’re too young to have reviewed Half-Life 2, but rest assured it would’ve been a 10).

That’s 1% more than Half-Life 2 has to its name, making GTA V objectively the best PC game of all time.

I found both games to be severely overrated, but GTA V has tons more content so I'm ok with this.

Not surprising, I'm sure if Ocarina, Galaxy, Metroid Prime, or Last Of Us made it to PC (officially, not in ROM form) they'd be top too.

Both games would be undeserving of that status.

Not the best in my book, but I'm having some of the most fun I've had in years with its online.

Well yeah its a shitty inflated system.. A game scoring 4 out of 5 stars at a website is not the same of scoring a 8.0 out of 10 here.. Yet they figure the same.. The entire % pt system needs to go out of the window for game reviews in general.

Good game but no where near the best.

GTAV isn't the best of anything. It's a deeply flawed game that got great scores because of its pedigree.

These ratings are by the same reviewers who threw out perfect scores for GTA IV several years back, so while I'm enjoying GTA V very much, I don't care very much for their opinions on a GTA game or any other such high profile game.

It's not a PC game. It's just highest rated multiplat also available on PC. Half Life 2 on other hand was PC exclusive with console ports.

HL2 is better in my opinion. People are way too forgiving when it comes to the characters and the story in GTA 5.

Apart from the fact that this is a PC game. Oh and, that actually would be a surprise considering PC has more high scoring games at MC/GS each gen than any 1 system.

While i really like it it would not even make it to my top 10 games ever.

I must be too old old to understand why such a crappy game received such high reviews. Sure, open world, lotsa things to do and what not. But the campaign is a drag, the dialogues are horrible, etc etc etc. Most overrated game ever.

CGMagazine just trolled you OP :). They gave it a 7 today (May 1st), so now the metacritic is down to 96.

That makes no sense then. You can't say someone beta tested and then u play the worse version than hes playing it is not logical DATA would even explode trying to figure that one out.

Great game but R* weren't even trying with the storyline and characters. The gameplay improvements of V+the quality and depth of the story in IV would have made for a legendary game. It's weird how thin, aimless, and downright uninspired GTA V's narrative is. They clearly had no narrative vision for the game. Disappointing. However, as a pure gameplay experience, it's very fun, and the visuals/environments are stunning (how the hell does this game look so good?), so whatever.

It seems like a beta test to you because you're PC illiterate.
