It may be possible Xbox one won January NPD.

Seemed interesting, Xbox one only really dropped when out of stock, and then it would climb back to the top when it did (regardless of PS4 stock issues ) and would end up next, or in between 1-4 spaces a part for a long period of time. The updated yearly chart, which is the january chart, as of a few days ago, has the PS4 at 9 and the Xbox one at 19.

but then i realized that the Xbox live gold member ship is significantly ahead and has been ahead of the Xbox One for awhile. This means those XBLG buyers getting the 12 (and 3 months to a lesser extend) months of gold are showing people buying Xbox Ones outside of Amazon and just going to Amazon for the chaper prices. So it's like having 2 SKU's (well not really) I'd say the XBLG 12 month cards account for 25% (could be more) of Xbox one sales.

In December 2014, XBLG 12 months was around 9 behind Xbox One. the 3 month one was in the 90's areas in the top 100.

In November, 12 month was 21 behind the Xbox One.

This also becomes more interesting when the Xbox 360 was severely down this year and seems to continue going down.

This month by week (yes you can do that) has 12 month gold ahead of Xbox one by a decent margin. Right now at of this post Xbox 12 month gold is number 1 in hourly charts, beating 2 PSN cards, the cards that are across 4 devices, seems rather odd, while the Xbox one got more stock and rocketed back to mid first page as well, XBLG 12 month was number 3 when Xbox One was still struggling on top 10 second page for 2 updates.

Monthly chart has XBLG 12 months ahead by 12 or so of the actual Xbox one system.

So this either:

A. Tells us that Amazon is a bad indicator this month.

B. A lot of people randomly decided to go out in droves to buy an Xbox one in the last 5 or so days of this month.

C. XBG 12 months should be counted as an SKu at a certain percentage, which would put Xbox One as the leading console most likely considering how insanely close Xbox one gets toward the PS4 every time it gets stock. The 12 months would put it ahead consistently.

A and C seems to be the most likely, because this destroys all kinds of trends, especially 12 month gold being in the top 5 for a few days now, been 3-1 for most of the day so far in position.

One argument someone will bring up is that PSn sales are probably down because people don't buy PSN all the tie. This seems silly because the cards always on the top aren't PSN plus, they are PSn cards for game purchases which people buy all the time, or other "purchases" and that's across 4 devices, so having XBLG in the top 10 for most of the month and now somehow, remember this is GOLD, being at the top, even ahead by a good mile, of Xbox cash cards, and considering that also includes the 360 (hardware is falling not software) this has to say something.

Last time XBLG cards were around cheap on Amazon such things had not shown. not even close, especially over Buy cards.
