Is there a fanbase that is considered good?

Every board I go to I'll see people saying things like "The [INSERT GAME FRANCHISE NAME HERE] fanbase is the worst..." Everywhere. Is there one that is considered to be a good fanbase?

Mostly small communities are the good ones. But for the rest there are no good communities, they all have jerks and selfish ****

This seems to sum it up. Alot of fanbases really aren't that bad at all, it's jsut that the bad ones are extremely vocal about their opinions and make the rest look bad.

also the MetalGearOnline community was amazing in its first 2 years.

Fanbases and communities are good, but fanboys are considered bad. Jim Sterling questions why fanboys would worship a lifeless object. In reality fanboys, you are really turning people away from the systems/games you worship.

There is no such thing as a GOOD fanbase. There will be a-holes everywhere you go.

BUT. There is such a thing as a fanbase with not too many a-holes and weirdos.

I feel like just about any online shooter fanbase is pretty bad.

Too many people act like elitists and take the game too seriously. If you're not on their level, they'll wanna ban you.

Probably small communities. From what I've seen, the bigger the community, the more douches.

Oh and Atlanta is the best fanbase. :cool:
