Is PC gaming obliterating all console competitions lately?

Seems PC is obliterating PS 4, Xbox One and WiiU as many console exclusives are being ported to PC (steam), japanese developers are taking very keen interest on PC gaming lately and porting many japanese games on PC (steam), Triple the sales of games on steam compared to PSN or XBL, PC getting better version of ports than ever before, Very powerful and cheaper GPU's/CPU's compared to next gen consoles on the market. Last years GOTY Shadow of Mordor best version on PC check ... GTA V best version on PC check... The Witcher 3 bestest version on PC check.

If i'm wrong correct me, what say you warriors? :)

I'll put it this way. I've owned every playstation up to it's third iteration along side my underpowered integrated GPU pc's I play RTS's on. Now I only game on my new self built pc.

Yes, you are correct. PC has the most high rated exclusives, the most genres, the best graphics, the best price to performance ratio, and mods.

PC is not considered a competitor. I don't think any of the console makers worry about "PC".

Almost every multplat this gen is much better on PC, save for 2-3. Thats over 90%.

It's amazing how the console plebs come out of the wood works to take their shots at PC when we get a busted port in a sea of quality games on the platform. But the consoles get maybe the half the amount of games, been riding a remaster wave, and first party, that's right first party games have been fucking broken like MCC and Driveclub or a fucking early access game like Splatoon. Let me put it this way, when Arkham Knight is broken on PC? They stopped selling it.

To the console plebs? They won't stop selling a game if it's broken. Put that into perspective.

Honestly one of the coolest things for me as a pc gamer is the fact we have games on our system that were released as far back as 2004 in which millions of people still play and it constantly gets updated.. As a adult I have really lost interest with theme park AAA games in which they become FOTM at release, and are quickly forgotten afterward.. This is what the bulk of the console games this gen have become along with the AAA industry in which many of these games do not offer much substance and literally are forgotten and discarded with in a month or two.

Every system is a competitor... but I'm sure we should ignore all the "timed exclusive" nonsense that comes along? Not a competitor for the TV spot (YET ... as that is undergoing development for the PC scene... moving to the TV.).

Honestly? I don't think about it. I just play the games.

It's not obliterating anyone, actually. I've had a GTX 970 for months now and there are no exclusives out there that really take advantage of the hardware. Most multiplats on PC are just console games with higher FPS. Hardly a benefit to pay for. Also, multiplats still sell much better on console. So basically for future games developers will still be aiming to please consolites first. On top of that, the most played games on steam are games like Dota 2, Counter Strike, etc which still are not nearly quite as popular as the most popular games on console. There are millions of people who play games like GTA V and Call of Duty on console where for PC those numbers are no where near. Also, most games are required to be installed through a DRM service and you can't resell them. Nor does it have the same concept of owning a physical copy.

Meanwhile, on consoles this year - I got to play Bloodborne, I got to play Bayonetta 2, I got to play multiplats like Mortal Kombat X and Arkham Knight which were optimized for console. Didn't have to deal with that port crap. I also get to play these on a nice big TV on a couch. I am in no way going to move my PC to my TV every time I want to play a game. Also, PC still won't be getting the latest JRPGs like Persona 5 or Xenoblade Chronicles X. Nor is PC getting a collector's edition for MGS V. So no, PC ain't obliterating anyone. It's just in herms' minds. Unfortunately a thread like this is fine in SW, but if you make a thread saying something negative about PC gaming then the herm mods blue hazy and wasdie lock it. I really do think it's an issue of PC gamer insecurity.

• So you admit most games are much better on PC. Nice. Sounds like the premiere gaming device. Lol 30 fps on medium.
• Did you miss E3 and most of this gen? PC has more developers making games for them than any other system. Not including Indy.
• Several popular games > The latest CoD. Long install-times/load/patch-times/no-mods/almost no competitive scenes/less updates < DRM which can be gone into offline-mode.
• Most ports are worse on consoles. Those two are a spit in the ocean.
• Grats on one good game after a few years (BloodBorne). You just reaffirmed the OP. PC has so many more aaa/aa/a games.

@-God-: If I'm going to pay $300 for a high end GPU, I want games that actually make use of the hardware. The only game that I can think of is Star Citizen which I will look into. Also,being that GTX 970 is the recommended minimum for the Oculus Rift, that's another plus. Otherwise, generally speaking, consoles are still my main machine. I will say though Witcher 3 is awesome on PC. But overall? No, I really don't consider PC better per se. Just a different flavor. Also - as I already mentioned, the popular games like COD and GTA V have no where near the same number of people playing on PC then on console. From a business perspective, consoles are still far more lucrative. We will continue to see consoles being the main platform for multiplats.
