When anyone thinks of gaming they call it Nintendo. Too many classics, too much history.

No....
Yeah for real. No one thinks of the Wii or WiiU when they think gaming now. Just look at some shopping websites it's an Xbox or a Playstation filling that role.
I would say so, yeah. Who else? Microsoft (lol) or Sony? Sony could have been but with the ps3 losing a lot of franchises to third party, and not being able to really capitalize on old franchises, they've become pretty much even to Microsoft. I mean, how do you lose exclusivity to Kingdom Hearts 3? It doesn't even make sense for it to be on xbox lol. And even Metal Gear Solid is now on Xbox.
They are the ones who understand gaming the best. And make great games. I'm not sure there can be a king in this vastly expanded and diversified market. If there is a throne, they definitely have a claim to the throne.
Nintendo was king in the 80's and the 90's (definitely the first half of the 90's anyway) and they are probably the the most versatile developer to this day. But today there are several other developers that makes games that rivals Nintendo's own in terms of gameplay and that was hardly the case in the 80's and early 90's.
They're in a master class. Not discrediting other development studios but everybody else pales in comparison.

I'm not sure Sony ever lost kingdom hearts 3, it was just shown at there press conference and metal gear solid, is from a third party developer, they was never exclusive, it was just the fact when MGS came out, the only true platform was Playstation for that type of genre, but MGS later came to Xbox once it became established, MGS4 was pretty much a wink to the old MGS game and so better suited to the PS3.

People are blind. They still put out great games. Simply compare Nintendos yearly releases with any other developer and I guarantee they will pale in comparison. Also, it was during the 80s and 90s when Sega was truly making exceptional stuff on a nintendo-esque level.
With lower than expected wiiu sales and the general tone on this board(seems to be changing though), i feel inclined to say that most of the ms/sony fanboys havent played the more recent nintendo releases, outside of "a few levels".
Not anymore IMO . But that doesn't mean Sony is King (lol , hell no) . Nintendo is still better than other console first party devs in a lot of ways but things aren't the same. Many third party devs have surpassed them but as I said , they are better than most first party studios . They are good but not King of gaming .
The only throne they sit on is a toilet, taking a huge dump of pooware that Nintendo fans happily eat up. =p
They are not. They are king of terrible childish games. not real games. PC is King
lol RTS trash and indies arent real games. Mario, Zelda, Smash, Metroid, Donkey Kong shits on the entire pathetic PC catalogue.
Go start another petition for a 2008 game LMFAO.

I agree Nintendo is still the single most talented developer. They make great games in many different genres, most devs these days only master one or two genres. And yes, Sega was also really good during the 80's and 90's but they had nothing on quite the same level as Super Mario Word, Super Metroid and Zelda a Link to the past.
Nintendo hasn't been "the king" since the SNES era. The Playstation brand pretty much took over after that.
They have also lost their crown when it comes to portable gaming, though sadly, not to a "worthy opponent..."
They're not Kings, but a very important pillar of gaming.
Without Nintendo, this industry is pretty much dead. Same more or less could be said for Sony and PlayStation.
Both have shaped this market insurmountably.
For first party games, they are unmatched. Their consoles have been able to survive over 15 years of no third party support. That's saying a lot.
The hardware is innovative, but after the gamecube, the last 2 generations have lacked "raw power".
Nintendo lacks 2 things, 1.) third party support, 2.) getting with the times such as their online functionality.
At the end of the day, if Nintendo supplies me with all their franchises and a new one or two each gen, I will continue to purchase a Nintendo console.
So far this gen, Nintendo is showing that they're as strong as ever with producing the games they have so far.
You can't just base winning mainly as winning an arms race ie who has the better hardware. Leave that to the PCs.
Nintendo are kings of self parody so in that sense they are probably kings of sorts in videogaming as self parody is pretty much what it's all about these days what COD are we on now 25 or something?
They are definitely Kings Of Crap Hardware in that category they are undisputed champions.
Actually nowadays when people (e.g in movies, tv shows) refer to something about video games, they usually say Playstation or Xbox.
Nintendo does have the strongest brand in video games though. They're like the Disney or Pixar of video games. They have a rich history and continue to make the top grade products.
lol RTS trash and indies arent real games.
Many RTS games are very sophisticated and deep and require some thought process. It's often console specific titles that are extremely linear, almost like they are on rails and sometimes with a few button combos to parkour in certain places, that aren't real games, as they are more like semi interactive movies.
