1,2 and 3 isn't the whole story. Pendulum Wars was huge. Not to mention the sh!t that happened between every game.freedomfreak

and the only point in the Pendulum Wars they reinforce was Colonol Hoffman at Anvil Gate.

the books cover what happened between the game and the Pendulum Wars.

it is milking but who cares. the games are fun and the lore is good. I'll buy it day 1.

Pretty much every Nintendo franchised has been milked so much that they were milking a dead cow years ago.

lild1425
We have not had a Star Fox game in 8 years... Smash Bros games come out every 6 years... Zelda games come out every 4-5 years... Donkey Kong games come out every 5-11 years We have not had a Pikmin in 8 years... We have not had a F Zero in 9 years... Yet Sony releases sequels every 1 to 3 years? What's next Uncharted 4 ?... Killzone 4?... These guys have nothing

We have not had a Wave Race in 10 years... Advance Wars... Fire Emblem... So who here reallymilks, the company who releases sequels for 10 Ip's every year to 3 or the company that releases sequels every 4 to 10?

because theres still a good lot of Cole's story to tell.

Same could be potentially said for Killzone, i'd love to see a prequel and i'll always stand by the ideology if the milks good why complain.

razgriz_101

I agree. I have no complaints if I enjoy the game.

Wow I actually agreed with you on something for once. >.>

This is not a hate thread. I played all three of the previous Gears games and enjoyed them for the most part. Under all the ultra violence and bromance a interesting and sometimes deep story was to be found. The gameplay was fun and the multiplayer was different. With that all being said, why does Gears Judgement even exist? It can't be a fan service, I was excited to continue the main story with Marcus, but who wanted a full game featuring the annoying sarcastic baird? Gears 3 wrapped up the story, and even released a prequel-esq DLC at one point(Rams shadow?). So why do we really need to go back again? Maybe there is just something I ain't seeing.

Killzonage

Both GoWJ and GoWA should not exist. You can't criticize ones with out criticizing the other, otherwise you just look like a hypocri-ohh wait I see it's too late. At any rate both games are unnecessary and milk-age of a series.

Cover peak repeat pew pew pew is what gears is all about. and copy paste franchise and thus its already milkedSNIPER4321
And yet the funny thing is Gears shares so much with those games you call "masterpieces" It's dark, gritty, post-apocolyptic, has a pretty terrible story, and the new one is being made by an Eastern European Dev. Only difference is, Gears's gunplay is actually fun and not crap, and so it doesn't meet your standards.

More like they ignored Baird for all of Gears 3, So they give him his own game with Cole.

And if it is? If the end quality is high, I don't really think that fans mind if a series is "milked."

Why come out with a new franchise when the masses buy the ones already in place by the millions. Halo and Gears sell like crazy and it is what 360 fans want more of, so why change a formula that has worked all generation?

All successful franchises are milked, just look at Assassin's Creed, Mario, Zelda, Call of Duty, Halo, and God of War.

Neither is GOW. in 7 years there's been 3 games on consoles, 2 on handhelds. That's fine. People just call it milked cos Sony keeps releasing them and bundling them in different ways.

In hope of getting more sales, with nothing remotely new added, thus milking the fanbase.

Yes. Gears Judgement, Halo ODST, Uncharted spinoffs, any Mario game that isn't a platformer, every COD, all these odd R&C games like All 4 One, God of War Ascension, Fable Journey, the list goes on and on.

No GOW is milked. Three collections have been released This generation, and one collection repackaged a major title for the franchise that was made THIS GENERATION.

It's not a bad thing love God of war, but you're blind if you think it's not milked.

Its mp is the most hardcore shooter this gen. Much higher learning curve than TF 2.

cover, shoot, health regen SO HARDCORE!!

Sounds like youve never play Gears mp. Even reloading right requires practice. Gears has tutorial videos for a reason. TF 2 is a game for casuals in comparison. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-TKRw4R8OAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACzc8P3hhyE

Collections may be milkage but it's not like they're bringing down the franchise. On top of that, God of war saga, Ratchet Collection, Sly collection, Jak collection etc are all incredible deals so customers are benefiting too.

Finally every single god of war game has been great and when you look at the fact they have been spread across 3 systems its really not that bad. Still it would be nice to see a new ip from Santa Monica. Ratchet on the other hand is pretty excessive but for the most part the quality has been high in that franchise too.

Anyways I'm looking forward to both judgement and ascencion.

While it is a little milky, I would say no, it isn't in the top ranks of blatant milking. The likes of Street Fighter II with all its various incarnations, Dynasty Warriors, and the Lego games all are quite a bit more blatant examples of milking.

I love Gears of War, the first one being my favorite. It was one of the reasons I decided to buy an X360. However, Judgement isn't really pulling my heart strings this time.

Just not sure if I'm down for one featuring my two least favorite characters, but I'll look closer at it as the release date nears.

I don't think it's milking. CoD:BO is serious milking. CapCom releasing 4 versions of SSFIV is milking. Gears Judgement is a whole new game, so I think that's fine.

I dislike it because they ended support for geoW3 for this cash in, why cant campaign and over run dlc? Besides, Im not one to complain about casulaztion in games because it doesnt really affect gameplay, but the blid fire has a reticle, and thats going to mke everything way to easy:/ Honestly Im not hyped for it, and I loved GeoW3. But, I hope the people that are looking forward to it enjoy it and get a much better game then it seems to me. Persoanlly I want PCF to work on another Painkiller...im excited baout the remake btw, dont have rig to run so have to wait for port:P

If we're talking about milking how about Call of Duty? I've enjoyed all three Gears of War. I think Epic always does a well rounded job trying to add more features, and modes. COD has been so stagnant, I refuse to play it after MW2.

Baird > Cole

Although I do love their bromance 1000x more than Fenix and Dom.

Same could be said for MGS series. How many games did they make for multiple systems and handhelds?

If it's a prequel that actually adds something to the rest of the story, then no. As it is though, it does seem kind of pointless, especially since they just capped off the trilogy.

It doesn't help that the lead writer is kind of an idiot (I'm missing Karen Traviss already :()

With God of War they're releasing a collection of a collection with another collection in one collection... In a year are they going to throw in Ascension?

I remember one of the devs at E3 basically said something along the lines of "We want to get something out for fans before the end of the generation" It's basically pure milkage, but it could still be good.

Here is on this is going to go.

1. You going to have people who going to agree with this, yet ignore their beloved series that have probably gotten way more sequels and spinoffs than what the 4 in this series..

2.You going to have those who disagree and try to point at another so called series and call it milked beyond belief.

Killzonage

That would be FF13 or Zelda SS and TP that were nothing like the older games and a mere shadow of their former self
