Global sales of Infamous: Second Son exceeded over 1 million copies within the first nine days following launch, information released by Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has revealed.

Surpassing 1 million units in just over a week makes Second Son the fastest-selling instalment in the Infamous series.

inFamous: Second Son seemed destined for success the moment it was unveiled during the PlayStation 4 reveal event thanks to its state-of-the-art visuals and enticing open-world gameplay.

The game was released worldwide on March 21st and Sony has now announced that it managed to sell over one million copies during its first nine days at retail and on the PlayStation Store. This makes it the fastest selling inFamous title to date despite the fact that the PS4′s install base is currently much lower than the PS3′s was when the first two inFamous games launched.

inFamous: Second Son is the second first-party PS4 title to break the one million mark after Killzone: Shadow Fall achieved the same milestone in late December.

... Infamous is not a blockbuster, its a B list 1st party franchise.... Infamous has never been a massive deal. Certainly not anywhere close to the hype/attention Titanfall has.

Multiplats rule both systems at the moment. simple fact. people care more about CoD/BF/Ass Creed 4 ect than any of these pathetic exclusives. in the summer, There will be last of us for those that have not played it (e.g people like me who did not have his ps3 when last of us came out) and Destiny.... Destiny will be the big deal of this year.

The powers kind of play the same aside from the visual differences. I would like to see more variety next time around, but overall it was a good game.

Infamous SS is crap? Why im even asking you, wouldn't be surprised if you've never owned anything else but a Nintendo system since late 90's... On PS4 you have "crap" such as Infamous. On WiiU you have quality games such as Lets Wait Winter 2014 For Smash Bros. Pretty much all you've been doing since Fall 2012 is wait for something to play, that's entertaining.

Congrats if true, but wasn't most PS4 owners waiting for this game to come out. Not surprising really.

Considering it´s pretty much the only "big" exclusive on the system so far I´d expect quite a bit more than that,not even the best selling game of the month. Still,good numbers,probably the fastest selling game in the series.

What does it matter if it's indie or AAA games? Unless in your world indies aren't games? Some indies are more fun to play then the "big" games, and lots of those Nintendo games you play could very well pass as indie

No, it doesn't. And what is there to lie about? I'm not going to sit there and play Infamous acting like it is the greatest game to ever be released, but it is a pretty great game. The 8 gamespot gave it and the 80 it has on metacritic are well justified.
