i cant play Halo multiplayer because its too arcade'ish

everyone is all excited about REACHash coming out, and i know its not for the borring story and only for the multiplayer. I have not played a halo online game since halo 1 on xbox. The game is too much of an arcade game... shoot 50bullets to down his shield. then 1 hit pistol whip to kill him.

I have the same problem with Ratchet and Clank. Its too.. platformy and cartoony, I really can't get to playing it.

Also I hope you realize that I am being ironic, I love R&C but even though its not my favorite genre I don't hate it for being different. You don't like the way Halo plays, don't play it and go blog your opinions instead of making a thread that does nothing to incite a discussion.

I rather enjoy the Halo universe's story, to be honest. Also, there was no online multiplayer for the Xbox version of Halo: Combat Evolved. And if you're talking about Halo 2's online component, the balancing has changed quite a bit since then.

probably. Then again he has a point about some FPS Multiplayer games being too Arcadish. Though I find it fun.

The TC specifically pointed out online multiplayer, you know. I said there is no online multiplayer in Halo: CE because there isn't.

Ive played all of the Halos online. 1 being the best (Played on PC). Im excited about Reach because it is going back to what Halo should have been and its bringing in all the cool elements from the newer games. Iantheone

that's why series went down imo. Too Much focus on Mp rather than Sp. I don't have 360 but many of my friends who has 360 said Reach will focus more on Sp just like CEbadtaker

This is what many of the reviews have been saying and I'll be very pleased if this turns out to be true. With the exception of CE and ODST, it seems that the story-telling in the games simply does not match the quality of the overall story of the Halo universe. Which is unfortunate because the story is really quite interesting.

halo reach has unprecedented amounts of customization from the get go.

pretty sure you can just play a game mode with your precious MW2 style fast kills.

The story in reach was somewhat a disappointment for me, I guess I was expecting more. But still the game super fun to play, probably the best campaign for a Halo game. As far as Halo being too arcady, I do agree, but I dont think thats a bad thing. The MP has so much to offer, your bound to find something you like.

I find it to be arcadey, which is one of the reasons why I like it (not that I don't like complex games or even overly complex ones, there's room for both). It's mechanics are simple, and fast for a console game. However, it takes a significant investment of time and effort to be truly good at it. If arcades were still around I could absolutely see it being a hit in a networked arcade of some sort, to take your words literally.

look at CS : S, simplicity is its strength, fast arcadey gameplay and its still one of the best MPS's around, like halo

Ever heard of XBCONNECT?..And im with this guy. I do not like games where 3 clips dont kill BUT one pistol whip does. ALTHOUGH I did love HALOCE..:)

An arcade game has nothing to do with how you describe halo. Halo is the most balanced fps game on consoles. MW2 is the "arcadey" title.

Yet it's still one of the best franchises for online multiplayer of all time, a lot of people, my self included, love the "arcade-ish" feel, I hate games where you die in a few hits so it's pretty much down to who got the first shot.
