Can't really say since I only started gaming in 5th gen and only started having dat system wars mentality (basically becoming a much moe serious gamer) this gen, I can't really compare it to anything.
I think the major issues this gen was the introduction of regeneration health( lowers difficulty and competitiveness in situations) , pre planed and poor DLC, major milking of franchises and types of game styles.Over hyping ,paid scores and quality not being standardized overall. Also system quality on MS's part was horrid. Lastly this generation should have died in 2010 to keep a fresh supply of options for game creators.
Well, there were plenty of annoyances that got in the way, but despite them, I played many great and memorable games, and that's what counts the most, so I'll go with 8.5.
When not viewing things through the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia it is clear that gaming continues to get better and better. This generation there have been more good games than I possibly have time to play. Just an incredible breadth and diversity of games. Right now I'm loving Dishonored and XCOM. Can't wait for Assassin's Creed 3.
These games alone make it a lot better than last gen

lol funny thing is that most of his list Pc versions were better, and also fable 1 was on 1st xbox not the 360 .. and how exactly does that negate what he said.. considering All of those titles were released this gen. :|

xbox 1 is last gen. Also he hasn't playedBravely Default and counted it as one of his favs. this gen? but then again, it's LE, everyone who takes him serious anymore is just insane or new here
I really enjoyed this gen. I have played games my whole life but it wasn't until this gen that I really got into it. Over the past 5 years I have played a lot of great games and met some really awesome people while playing/discussing those games.
I can't say I am too optimistic about the direction the gaming industry is taking, but this was a great generation nonetheless.

I would compare this gen to a sh*t sandwich with small pieces of chocolate mixed in. You couldn't tell the difference between the sh*t and chocolate because it all looked the same.
You just had to take a bite and hope for the best. Guess what you ended up with most of the time? :|

loosingends isn't even that bad. He just hyperbolizes everything, counts PC/360 multiplats as 360 exclusives, and finds obscure sources to loosely support his ridiculous claims. He isn't like PinnacleGamingP where he just says something stupid and then insults everyone who proves him wrong.
Best gen ever, 9/10. Pretty much every genre (with the possible exception of JRPGs) has advanced and improved and gotten some brilliant titles. Graphics, sound, AI, physics, enemy counts, world sizes have all gotten better. There's also some mad creativity, blending of genres and entirely new ones created (Wii Sports, Portal, Minecraft, etc) XBLA/PSN/Wiiware is such a great development for consoles, leading to a flood of cheaper, smaller scale indie games, that can do the "niche" stuff that would never get approved for a full retail game. Also, this gen gave us the best goddam Batman games EVER! How can it not be the best gen ever :P

His personal experience doesn't decide in which gen a game belongs >__> Also saying it counts for BC is pretty stupid, because this way most gens are better than past gens, since you can play pretty much each gen on your systems (Ps1, 2, 3 on PS3, xbox/360 on 360, GC and Wii on Wii with VC for older games. Also tons of other past gens and even some portable games)

I think you haven't played any games if you rate it lower than AAA. I'm talking about software here, the hardware for Sony and MS is crappy and that's well known. But this gen is the best I ever experienced with so many must plays coming out each year. It also offered us XBLA/PSN games, and there was a lot of quality titles in there as well. It offered achievements, and finally trophies after Sony finally gave in. It just gave us the best all around experience, with huge games, arcade size games, a connected experience to play online with friends and foes, extra content (for good or for bad) and the jump into HD. I loved this gen, I played a few hundred games and I'll keep on playing!

lol? I got several 100 gammes this gen and rated it good / AA. So your first sentence is wrong. This gen destroyed several IPs, especially japanese ones. It lacked quality JRPGs and big budget games rarely took a risk. You pretty much just had the option to get a super serious AAA game or an actual creative handheld / indie game. Sure there were some exceptions here and there but this gen doesn't deserve an AAA IMO, last gen however did
I am going to give it a good because a lot of genres and gamers were put into sections, seperating the gaming community somewhat farther. The games were good too, not great, but good.
