This is a toughie. You get so many games with both. If I had to choose, I would go with Halo MCC. The graphical/performance overhaul made the games so much palatable especially for new players. You also get these crazy multiplayer options (hopefully they will work soon). What do you think, SW? What is the best collection between these two?

What about God of War Saga which came with five games like Orange Box? I enjoyed Orange Box too (it came with five games, some of which were brand new).

Besides, no one has fully completed the four game Halo MCC to give a fair comparison yet as it just released this week (three days ago). Besides, Halo MCC has a lot bugs in SP and MP confirmed by 343 so some people are waiting it out. In essence, this thread is too early.

My friend, I'm a former Quake 3 player. Showing off a video of a young person playing FPS with a control pad is like showing an F1 driver tots racing with sandbags.

You're getting better at this every day.

theyre both great deals . Orangebox was such a good deal for its time ppl 10 years from now will still remember it and compare future collections against it. for that reason id give Orangebox the edge.

You just proved my point. It's a lot easier to use a controller therefore it's harder to be better than someone else. People get rank 50 in Halo 2 playlists like MLG so they are leagues above the average player despite them both using a controller with aim assist. All the button combo glitches in Halo 2 makes it hardcore too.

How dare peasants try to drag the almighty OB down to the broken MCC's level. I have no idea wtf people are smoking MCC's single and multiplayer is broken but it still rates 9's??

In that case OB must be a instant 10 by default using peasant logic.

You guys are forgetting that Orange Box also introduced some brand new games that debuted with it- Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half Life 2: Episode 2 all debuted with The Orange Box. Halo: MCC is literally just a collection of older games.

Orange Box wins.

Master Chief Collection for me. 4 sp campaigns, 4 mp games. Orange Box was a good collection for what it was, but TF2, while an awesome MP game, still MP only with no real lore. Portal didn't feel like a fully fledged game and more like an expanded tech demo, still amazing though. Half-Life, I view them as overrated. Good games, but not the God Tier games I was led to believe they were. Both are great collections, but I'd pick MCC>Orange Box.

If the MCC worked flawlessly it seems like it'd be the greatest bundle simply because of what it does not only in providing huge enhancements for the Halo games, but also with integrating all the multiplayers into one pretty seamless experience. It's one "nearly"-complete, unified Halo experience

The Orange Box was just a collection of really good games. It was a great deal for sure, but it's not quite the same type of package.

Orange box, it came with a NEW game in Portal which went on to get a sequel and the MP actually worked day 1.

I'm not so sure. I remember TF2 being a lagfast (absolutely unplayable) until Valve released a patch.

Damn that's a tough one... I love both, but I'd have to go with Orange Box, mostly because HL2 is my fav game of all time. But Halo isn't far behind!

I still think it's Halo:MCC by a small margin. The Orange Box was great too but TF2 only had like 6 maps at the time.

Nothing can beat The Orange Box. Episode 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal in the same box?

That said, the MCC should have included ODST and Reach. Don't know why they didn't and called it the "Halo Legendary Collection" or something similar. They are missing two of the greatest singleplayer campaigns from the franchise in this collection of theirs.

ODST was a "side" game that did atmosphere, dialogue and story-telling better than any other game in the franchise. ODST and Reach are integral to the Halo experience.

Best remake: Resident Evil 2002.

Both worked on release as well.

MCC old stuff.
Orange box new stuff that lasted what, 7 years?

Orange box.

The Orange box created a new subgenre with Portal. They reached new levels of community support. The old Halo games have aged. They were never that good if you had a PC, let alone today. I can't believe people who say MCC.

So basically people are saying that TOB is better because it worked day one. My vote goes to the MCC after 20 hours of play and I know that in a week or so time it will be fixed. They added a lot of new content to it too.

Orange Box - 9.5/10

TMCC - 6/10

Onwed.

Half Life 2 is already better than all Halo games. Half Life 2 has better gameplay and story. Halo does not have any.

Portal is is something new, Halo is old.

Team Fortress 2 is even more player game and one of the highest profit earning game of all time and Halo is not even there. Team Fortress 2 can be called PRG because there is so much things to do.

A port collection of MP-focused games without a functioning MP vs. A collection of completely new games which are now considered masterpieces?

Seriously?
