Halo MCC or Orange Box - best collection?

This is a toughie. You get so many games with both. If I had to choose, I would go with Halo MCC. The graphical/performance overhaul made the games so much palatable especially for new players. You also get these crazy multiplayer options (hopefully they will work soon). What do you think, SW? What is the best collection between these two?

MCC no doubt. I've only dabbled in it so far and already its like an orgasmic experience.

Orange Box is full of masterpieces and Halo is a FPS for young people who never owned a pc.

Orange Box. It had functional multiplayer.

You can pretty much pick any title and claim it's better than Halo. Team Fortress 2 alone poopy poops all over babys first FPS.

The Orange Box. Portal and Team Fortress 2 are excellent.

MCC wise it's Halo 2's awesome multiplayer+some lousy campaigns and lesser mp games.

Being an older pc gamer my opinion holds more weight than yours.

Not to mention the best fps ever, half life 2

My friend: for what is it, a casual game for newcomers, Halo is very good.

In the overall spectrum, Halflife is a masterpiece that revolutionized socaity. Portal is masterpiece that educated children of the world. Team Fortress 2 is a masterpiece that changed multiplayer as we know it.

In many ways, it remains still the greatest past generation title. It's impossible for a movie game like Uncharted or Last Of Us to match the originally, creativity, variety or quality, variety and creativity seen in "The Orange Box".

Control pad requires more skill than a m+k. It's also much more of a level playing field because everyone has the exact same controller.

If Halo MCC worked then we could talk. It's friday and I still haven't played a match online.... And I have seen many crashes while playing through various campaigns. Maybe I will come back to it in a couple of weeks. I think I will play more of a real mans game that just got some real kick ass DLC. Mario Kart 8!

Video games are slowed down, focusing on rewarding the player (grats 250XP) even if they fail. Old school hardcore pc gamers focused on pure skill. A dying art, we are dying off, one by one: thanks to young people masquerading as pretend gangsters.

I've played Quake, Unreal, RTCW, Shadowrun, CS, TF2, MoH:AA, DoD, R6, GR1 and while Halo 2 doesn't require as much raw skill as most of them it still requires much more than you will ever admit to. I doubt you have even played it a high level in one of the more competitive playlists. I'm going to let you off due to ignorance.

MCC, the only thing that was worth while on the Orange Box was Portal, Team Fortress 2 sucks compared to Team Fortress, Half Life 2 and Episode 1 and 2 were nice additions but none of them were remastered like CE and H2 Anniversary.

The Orange Box changed my standard for gaming. HL and Portal alone do the dirty deed done dirt cheap on Halo games....also, TF2 was addicting there for a little while.

Orange box, it came with a NEW game in Portal which went on to get a sequel and the MP actually worked day 1.

Not as fair of a comparison since The Orange Box came loaded with 3 new games in addition to two older ones ported to the consoles.

The MCC is a pure Halo fanservice. It may win over some new fans, but it's really just a fanservice.

The Orange Box, hell if Orange Box were just HL2+E1+E2 it would still be better.

MCC comes with a 97 metacritic game, OB only comes with a 96 :(

PC Neckbeards can say what they want including spouting that PC has higher standards BS but this will haunt them for the rest of their lives, their beloved shooter was beaten by a console game, all they can do now is damage control and beg their beloved Lord Newell to come up with Half Life 3 by 2030.

I mean, 60% of the Orange Box could have probably been retailed for like $30+ each (don't think TF2 would have been full PC retail price). TF2, Portal and HL:EP 2 were all new content, no? The MCC is just all remakes...

But the games in both bundles are all pretty solid, so you're not losing either way.
