oh yea POKEMON diamond and pearl sold more than brawl and halo3 (14.17 million copies)I was right and the hermits were wrong.
Halo 3 sold more in one day in America (2.4 million) than SSBB sold in one week in America and Japan combined (2.2 million)
Halo 3 also sold 2.8 million in its first week alone in America.
All hail the king of sales, Halo 3.

Halo 3 had worldwide release :|

Oh he limited it to only the region that Halo 3 sold well in, so he could own SSBB.
Let's see what happens to total first day sales when it hit's Europe.

GTA4>>>>SSBB>>>Halo 3 in Salesthe_h_bomb
Let's look back... the original Smash Bros. sold over 5 million copies. Melee sold over 6 million on a console with a userbase of only 20 million.
I think Brawl could ultimately sell 10-12 million with the growing Wii userbase. Depending on how well the 360 does, Halo 3 could ultimately sell as many, but Halo 3 doesn't have the legs Brawl will have.

Halo is an e-sport basicly. It will have plently of legs for a long while to come.

I do not think a game like Brawl will ever be near the level of FPS for sporting purposes. I deffinatly could care less about someones mad skills in brawl.
It is not a comment on how good the game is and the over all fun factor for a player but. Any FPS makes for a much more tense and entertaining game to WATCH then a four player cluster **** on a 2d plane.
Who are you talking to?The damage control is strong in this one.
Just Admit it, Halo sales >>ssbb sales. Halo 3 sold more in one day in the US that Brawl in one week in USA and Japan :|

Yeah.. I don't think anyone expected SSBB to sell over 2 million copies in one day like Halo 3 did.

SSBB will have good legs though an will continue to sell for every 1 out of 3 Wii's sold. So overall it might have a small chance to catch Halo 3. I'm waiting for MGS4 day one sales. Can it beat Halo 3 on it's first day. lol!!

I never expected Brawl to surpass Halo 3's day one sales. It would simply be impossible for any game, except for Halo 4.
But you do have to admit that this is great for Nintendo and will really help push out more console sales.
[QUOTE="Relys"]I just beat Halo 3 on Legendary. I'll probably never touch that game again, but with Brawl I'll be playing it for years to come.Immortal_EvilMultiplayer is where its at.sad.
Actually CoD4, and now R6V2 is better than Halo 3 multi :| R6V > Halo 3 multi tbh. All opinion though.
To be honest, no game can (and ever will) sell more than Halo 3. But Brawl certainly comes close and this is fantastic for Nintendo.Killer_Wuggles

Either way, isn't it better to see all the fighters (Brawl) than from the perspective of one person (FPS)? My favourite to watch are still RTS tho :D

Halo 3 is a piece of junk (and yes I own a 360 and it's my favourite console). Having said that I ain't picking up SSBB cos that ain't my type of game.
This may have been the most pointless message I've ever posted.
dcman007
Im with you on all of that..I thought halo 3 was junk as well.. I was expecting so much after seeing what they accomplished on the original xbox. I guess that was it. Plus I beat halo 3 in 5 and a half hours.. I beat halo 2 in one day but that still took me around 10 hours or so

WOW I have never seen a more terrible damage control than this one! so according to your logic is better and more entertainmet to WATCH a game and not to PLAY it no matter how fun the game is?!! Wow! amazing logic!.....Denial at its best here!

I own it and I can honestly say that its not a bad game. The AI is pretty good, the graphics look really nice and the controls work very well. But I cant say that its so good that it should've sold 18 million times.

Halo 3 has been more than doubled up by Nintendogs. Halo 3 isn't close to being the "king of sales." "King of HYPE" would be accurate, however. Its initial sales were monstrous, but there will be many games to outsell it this generation.
I just love how everyone thought SSBB would outsell Halo 3. I knew that would be impossible because Halo 3 was the most anticipated game of all time.jbz7890
yeah but who cares i mean Nintendo isnt going "Oh crap Halo sold a bit faster than Smash Bros" and in the long run it doesnt matter. I mean it doesnt put anybody in a better place than before Nintendo is still in first Microsoft is still in second and Sony is still in last so nothing changes.

please do yourself a favor and quit gaming
if your gaming for all the wrong reasons if you care more about how fuin a game is to WATCH than to PLAY, yaknow, what video games were designed for.
Its true but really, why do sales matter when you're playing the game anyway?!GnR-SLaShBecause lems are getting owned in every single field expect for online. They know it.

maybe because the better it sells the more development they will put into the next one?
im sure the fact that melee sold the most on the Gamecube had something to do with all the development, time and money they put into Brawl. with awesome sales like this, im sure the next Smash Bros. will have even more content
if the original smash bros didnt sell well, then we wouldnt have any sequels.
