GTA:SA 10 years old this month. 360 re-release coming

Can you believe it? Its been 10 years since we got our hands on the second best GTA ever? Also, this.

Rockstar is reportedly preparing to re-release Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the Microsoft Xbox 360 soon, according to Xbox Achievements. The Xbox 360 version is no longer available to download, while the Sony PlayStation 3 version is still available.

October 26 is the 10-year anniversary of when GTA: San Andreas was released, so now would be a fitting time for a game re-launch. The game was originally released in October 2004 for the Sony PlayStation 2, and was later released for the Microsoft Xbox, PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows phones.

Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto V will be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next month, with a PC version set for a January 2015 release.

Oh, it's a rumor, most likely fake.

I don't get it, I mean sure they make fake news to generate hits to get ad revenues, but seriously, they could do better, they could try a number of headlines, "Miley Cyrus sex tape leaked!!" comes to mind.

Also, I haven't been on XBL for like a year and a half, but before then i recall their Xbox Originals section either being taken down or becoming impossible to find on the Marketplace, so I am somewhat skeptical it was taken down in relation to a re-release, maybe taken down (or made impossible to find) along with everything else in the Xbox Originals section.

@Alucard_Prime: yea really I still remember taking turns with friends on GTA 1 on PC seeing who could last the longest in big crime spree. We said back then this would be awesome in 3d.

I still have my original Xbox copy of the game, and it still works on my 360. No sale.

I still have PC version on Steam.

I have not played the game yet, an HD remake would be nice, yeah an playstation version:P

If they do re-release it, let's hope it's not capped at 24 FPS.

SA is a damned good game, though. Ties with Persona 3 for my top PS2-gen game, and is far better than GTA IV.

My last experience with this game was playing it on iPhone. It was a horrible experience.

But yeah a re-release with better graphics is nice. Don't tell me they just ported the better iPhone sprites to the 360 ?

Would love to see a Vice City remake. But a Vice City 2 way more.

After GTA IV and V i can never replay the previous games again.

@Bigboi500: I have it on PS2 but no backward compatible PS3 and my PS2 looks like ass on my HDTV so I plan on ditching my PS2 copy and picking this up.

The best GTA game in the series in my opinion. Still have it for my PS2 to this day.

The PS2 version was garbage (I say that, as the PS2 version is the only one I've played). I wouldn't play this game on PS2 again though.

Why would it be? PC already got the best version, why would you want an inferior version?

For your information, it's a port of the PC version in 720p, that's it.

All they've said is the game will run at 720p, if there were upgraded graphics then I'd imagine they would have said so.
