I could see their point. After you finish the SP and play around with the MP a bit, there is not a whole lot that kept me entertained, but the SP was so good, I didn't care too much, as it was still plenty of game for the money.

I didn't like the SP. It wasn't fun, and it was way to repetative...

lack of crazy missions, lack of crazy weapons, lack of crazy cheats, lack of memorable characters, Roman being so annoying, phone calls, ralism being boring, and so on...I have debated this a ton of times

I'm not saying it's not worth playing it, but it's not a 10 in my book definately

Edit: MP was crap too IMO, and that was a selling point for me

Decent storyline and gameplay, no content after you finish the game. It's good for a rental, but if you're looking for a game that you can enjoy for a long time don't grab GTAIV. It's just good for one play through, since the end game content is nonexistent

Good game, but hardly should even be in the running for GOTY.

also they made it too real. Realism is good in a game, but too much of it and the game will put ppl to sleep. a game with no realism at all will be totally crazy, but things can fall out of hand... there needs to be a certain balance in certain games. the past GTA had the right balance, but GTA4 changed it. it's a good game, but thats it. i got bored playing it in a few hours honestly

alot of fanboys/haters bash it ... they probably didn't even play it... or they did but they didn't go far into the game. But then again, we can't count out the few percentage that just did not like it. But the people that do not like it probably will have good reasons to back up their claim. I don't like those idiots that just say something sucks but fail to explain why.

I've seen however some people saying they loved the other GTA's but when asked about IV they say there wasn't anything to do after the missions. Umm.. what was there after you had done the SP in the other games?KinderChimp

Parachuting, interesting cheats, side missions, exploring (GTA IV was too condensed, no real need to explore), tons of side missions, actual piloting rather than just a helicopter.

not yet, when the game comes over here I'll give a try.

but there are a lot better games I plan buying, and some of them cost over $100 :cry:, so I don't know if I;ll have the cash :(

Its all right. But not all that great. Many games get marks knocked off for doing the same as the last game, yet GTA does not. Every time its really fun to start with, then yoou remember its just like the last one and it gets boring.

The game deserved a 9, 9.5 if you want, but not 10.

I found the piloting rather bland in San Andreas, theres lots of side missions as well in GTA IV (races, Little Jacob etc) and I really spent a lot of time exploring the city as it looks beautiful.

From the grpahics to the atmosphere. Its a hell of a game and deserves more than what it gets (In SW). I can feel if someone doesn't think its the best game this gen but what I find annoying is someone saying its absolutely garbage. How can you say that? KinderChimp

If you don't own a PS3 and haven't played MGS 4 I could understand why you say this.... a little. I thought the game was terrible myself.

me too. i just can't stand how much ppl overate this game. it's a downgraded GTA with better graphics and a kickazz story. that's pretty much it.

oh and i also dont see why SMG is called game of the gen. lol seriously? im a big fan of nintendo games(thats why i have a wii), and i think the game was fantastic. but for it to be game of the year? for what? being the same old mario but with motion controls and a space setting? it was awesome, but it wasn't revolutionary in any way...

and i guess you guys wanna hear my opinion on MGS4? haha. well i have a ps3 too(and IM LOVIN IT), but that's one of the games ive forced myself not to get(i tried it at my friends house tho). ive never gotten far in the past titles, but i love the story. i basically read from wikipedia, or my uncle tells me about it. so im not much of a fan, i know the story well, and ive only tried MGS4's multiplayer. it's really fun. but game of the year? i dunno i havent gotten far into it

I've played a huge chunk of MGS 4 and it is a wonderful game and everything but I hate cut-scenes in any game which is the reason why it is IMO the third best game this gen. (Second being SMG)

It was a good game, but I felt the gameplay could have used more creativity. Were are my extra side jobs, or crazy upgrades. How about gangs?. I felt like after I beat the game there was little incentive to continue. I wanted to have a way to add guns, and crazy stuff to vehicles. How awesome would it be if there was stuff like that which unlocked after you beat the game?Darthmatt

I think I had fun with it because it was a "next gen" GTA......but to be honest.... I am getting more enjoyment with SR2
