Greatest game of all time round 1: Platformers

We have had a lot of good games over the history of videogames. Now we are going to find out what System Wars think is the best game of all time. This week we are starting off with platformers.

Super Mario Bros. brought videogames back from the dead selling 40 million games sold. It's sequels like Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World were outstanding as well. It took 3D to the next level with Super Mario 64. This series is still doing great

Sonic the Hedgehog took the speed in a game to the next level. The Genesis games were all outstanding. Even though the games aren't that good now since it turned into a 3d game, but it's still worth mentioning

Crash Bandicoot was one of the first platformers to have 3d graphics. All of the games on the Playstation. Like Sonic, some of its games now aren't that good but the old games are still rememberable.

Ratchet and Clank was one of the platformers to have a good shooting system to it. All of the games in the series are very well made.

I have extremely fond memories of Super Mario World and Kirby Superstar on snes but I also loved Ratchet and Clank... =\

(I voted Ratchet and Clank to be different but yeah)

R&C is less about platforming and more about shooting(though i enjoyed the coop mode in a 'platformer')

from what i played of jak2... it didn't really seem to be much for focusing on platforming either

these levels just seem so bland and boring when they try to mix combat with platforming

however POP seems to do a decent job of mixing these  

however... SLY.. now that's a cool underrated platforming franchise

Mario followed by Jak & Daxter, then Sonic then Ratchet & Clank.  Crash is dead last just because that game is crap now that it's not developed by ND anymore.

Whatever happened to Crash? The originals were developed by ND and produced by Sony, so how'd they end up being made by some 3rd party crap dev? Didn't Sony or ND own the IP?  I mean, if everything was in-house Sony, what happened?

The options are too vague, you want to find the best game of all time, not the best franchise.....

On topic, its Super Mario bros. The highest selling game of all time, it saved the north American console market from near death. Come to think of it, its gameplay was no slouch either.

I see this whole genre as Nintendo domination tbh.
