Gears 5 hype thread for Sony fanboys! Update: Gears 5 is a 7/10!

Update: Gears 5 Gamespot Review gives it a 7/10 and it's a solid hit but that's about it.

Ugh, I really don't wanna do this hype thread.....but @sakaixx couldn't do it for some reasons but anyways, never mind my rambling, I'm gonna keep it simple.

Gears 5, the game that every Sony fans are talking about, the most anticipated MS game is coming sooner then anyone expected to. What can we expect to see in Gears 5? It is the final Gears game to be release on Xbox One until Scarlett arrives and we'll no doubt see Gears 6 on Scarlett at a later date. Coalition is going all out on Gears 5 and I do see hype more so.

Just be aware Gears 5 will be available launch with Game Pass sub which is good for any PC gamers who just wanna play for less. PC specs: (I meet the recommended specs!!!)

With all that said, I'm going for an 8/10 and I'm not hype, but I am looking forward to playing Gears 5 on PC and see how it fairs compare to Gears of War 4.

I’ll reckon that it’ll get an 8/10. I’m very hyped for this game, really enjoyed the tech demo and have liked everything that I’ve seen and heard about the game. I’ll be getting the physical version of the Ultimate Edition when it comes out next Friday.

They didn't even show gameplay at e3. 6/10.

Don't forget the $600 Kait statue/model thing they are trying to sell too :P

I'm gonna say 8 GS/87 Meta. I've actually been hearing decent stuff about it. Xbox has not had a good non-racing AAA in a looooong time. Hell, since the last Gears. And it'll take another Gears to break the cold streak.

The preview impressions seem good! I'm happy they changed up the classic formula, I think it's a shake up that the series needed for awhile. It's been a long time since I've been really excited for a MS first party game! Hopefully this is a sign for better things to come. Day 1 with Gamepass!

The game is changing direction and if you read gamespots article they say the game is more open world with exploration, side quests,vehicles and has RPG elements while keeping the classic gears combat

I enjoy the series can see this getting an 8 across the board. 85 meta.

I'll go for a 9 based on Gears 4 getting a 7. They've tweaked the formula and fixed my biggest criticism of Gears, which was as soon as you enter a battle, every enemy knows where you are without exception.

Playing it right now, it could be a 9. On GameSpot I think it will be an 8, however.

Hope it's better than 4, the shooting gallery thing got boring really fast. I say 8/10.

At first, I didn't want to but I'm glad I did since I already did for Gear of War hype thread several years ago. This was fun in the making :)

From what Im reading, this game is over 20 hours long with side missions played; 12 hours play straight through. I think this will score an 8/10 here due to diminishing returns. Had Gears 4 had all of this fleshed out stuff in campaign and the extra modes for MP it would've scored a 9. But by now an 8 is the best Gamespot gives a Gears game regardless.

8/10 here on GS - multiplayer's gonna come to save the day (sadly not for me, reasons below)

Already preloaded the game on PC (game pass) and gonna play solo through the campaign only. Gears 4's campaign was 6/10 at best, crossed fingers for MUCH better one + at least some new gameplay mechanics... Finished Gears 4 few days ago (bought the game before, not as a part of game pass) and felt like replaying the same X360 games all over again. It brought nothing new to the table, except pretty graphics (played on Ultra settings @ 1440p).

Probably and most-likely no multiplayer for me. Last shooter i played with KB+M was Metro: Last Light (non-Redux) ~5 years ago. So it would only felt like a chore on gamepad, because i'd be either the weakest link in Horde or get totally rekt in Versus against KB+M players. Simply put, not selfish enough to hold whole group back/give someone easy kills. BTW, i loved Gears of War 3 online on X360.

I think it looks great and will be a ton of fun, it definitely looks better than Gears 4, but likely won't top Gears 3, so I'd guess 86 MC.

I think he/she is referring to the lack of gameplay recently and MS didn't show none of that at E3 2019 thus why some may think MS & Coalition don't have confidants for this latest Gears of War game........that is, until now it's generating hype after the MP Beta for those who already played it.

@davillain-: There has been a ton of gameplay revealed, starting with the Escape mode at E3, as well as a ton of information since detailing the characters, classes, multiplayer, horde, the size of the campaign and everything they've changed, etc. The information is there if you were paying even just a small bit of attention, and it's very clear The Coalition has confidence in the game.

I personally can't wait for it, as it'll be the first game of the year to actually get me to turn on my Xbox 1.

I think it will be a 9. Yes I am brave and this is a hype thread after all.

Unless the open areas have little to nothing in them and/or a weak story, either of which will make it an 8.

I see the MP being top notch as always.

And the improvements to the SP sound very good, especially eliminating the auto detection by enemies. I like the idea of being able to sneak around and kill some enemies undetected.

I give it a 7 out of 10, because it seems that MS doesn’t care about its fan base anymore . So MS will just half arse it like they’ve done this whole gen.
