L@ninjapirate2000: I remember beating level 70 and 80 bosses at level 27. Crazy.
I'm honestly jealous of anyone who hasn't played Persona 4 Golden. It's easily the most Japanese game I can recommend to a non-Japanophile, not to mention one helluva game.
Enjoy the superior handheld!
@p3anut: yeah, definitely recommend Fire Emblem Awakening. Infact here is my list:
1. Fire Emblem Awakening, aka. waifu simulator
2. Bravely Default, best Final Fantasy in years
3. Kid Icarus, starring the cheapest SSBB character
4. Zelda A Link Between Worlds, >>>> TLOU
5. Pokemon XY, because everyone and their mom plays pokemon
6. Mario Kart 7, When's Mario kart 8 coming out?
7. Super Mario 3D Land, casuals
8. Shin Megami Tensei IV, I actually finished this game unlike Blab
9. Final Fantasy Theatrythm, Nobuo Uematsu tribute
10. Kingdom Hearts DDD, playing #3? You'll be lost without this game.
@Slashkice: You should play Bravely Default!
Correction: You should play half of Bravely Default!
How far are you in Bravely Default @ninjapirate2000?
In fact how many people on this forum who've recommended Bravely Default have actually gone through the second half of the game?
There's something fundamentally wrong to me when it says top 10 3DS games of all time especially when the 3DS life cycle isn't even over yet.
@Minishdriveby: I finished it, the ending is rewarding if you can handle the last few chapters. I firmly recommend just switching the difficulty to easy and breezing them. You should be incredibly over leveled if you've been playing the game on normal. Because people will miss the fight with the antagonist (not the final boss) and it is such an epic battle that I will remember for a long time. And, dat BGM during the fight with the antagonist, it's so...wickedly awesome. Best OST in the game imo.
@Slashkice: You need to get on those! Both of those!
Bravely Default Chapters 5-8 are a mess, but the game is good enough that even though they hamstring the experience, but not enough to the point where it isn't a great game.
Just traded in Zelda for Bravely Default. Here's hoping those chapters don't sour me on the entire experience like ME3's ending. :p
I can guarantee it will.
@Slashkice: stop listening to these guys. Just refer to my post above when you get to chapter 5. Other than that, enjoy the ride.
I can guarantee it will.
You played it already?
No, but the rants and the sheer vitriol that were spouted for how awful it is beyond chapter 5 make it pretty clear that you can only plug so many holes in the ship.
I would probably take Kris' advice if I had the game, just with a pinch of salt since Kris' general taste in games and Nintendo apologism.
The hate bravely default gets is purely hyperbolic.
Sure the pacing goes to shit for the last 3 chapters but you can pretty much zoom right through them if you just go for the main bosses. Some of the side scenario's in chapter 7 are also pretty cool and challenging

Honestly, it knocked the game down from a 9 to an 8 for me (personally), but the game is still good enough that it's recommended. Hope you enjoy it!

Repeating everything one more time warrants hate. It is not hyperbolic, it's bad game design, it's like they had the budget to make half a game.

My time says 22 hrs. So not that far. Im in ch 3 I think. But I know about the later chapters lol. I'll see how I feel about it when I get there.
Mine are:
and thats about the only game i played on the 3DS lol
nothing else interest me in the slightest except Bravely default just a little bit which i shall get once it gets a price drop.
@charizard1605: I'm talking about the people acting like the entire game is shit and not worth playing.
Those chapters are bad don't get me wrong, but they don't completely ruin the game to the point of no redemption

That's true, but it's the internet, more than even me it thrives on hyperbole.
1. Fire Emblem: Awakening
2. Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure
3. Pokemon X/Y
4. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy
5. Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
6. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
7. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
8. Super Mario 3D Land
9. Steamworld Dig
10. Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask
Mario Kart 7 did virtually nothing to innovate with the series, so I wouldn't have it on the list at all. It was basically the Wii game with air-gliding.
> no kid icarus uprising
Into the trash it goes
I generally agree, but... which of the top 10 would you remove? That's a staggeringly excellent list.
Other games that didn't make it in were Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Resident Evil Revelations, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, and so on. It's what happens when you have a library this big lol.
Yeah that Ghost Recon was my first bought game for 3DS along with OoT. Its pretty awesome, imo.
A pretty boring list that takes takes too few risks.
However, I will bash the titles in the list regardless, Fire Emblem Awakening is crap compared to FE7 and FE9. Super Mario 3D Land was uninspired and SMT4 was nearly ruined by the smirk system and dumb companions which would cast bufu or whatever only to have the boss absorb it and smirk
Because everyone else did it, I will make a list too.
Edit: By doing the right thing in BD I mean skipping from chapter 5 to chapter 8 or so entirely, skipping the entirety of chapter 6 and 7. This is done by...keep pressing the button when charging the last crystal after Airy tells you to stop.
