Game of the year so far?

Until SC2 was released I would have said Trinity Universe, but once SC2 released, it easly took the place for me and I have it as a favourite this entire decade already ^^ Might be because I'm a huge fan of the first series as you might except regarding my nick :D And Archons still look the best ^^

The fact that mario galaxy 2 is so close to SC2 is a real shame, I thought people here were learned gamers. Mario is a great game that you play for a month tops and forget abput it. While SC2 has the quality to keep you entertained for YEARS, its about to be all over television as the #1 competitive E-sport in the world. I mean besides the campaign just the small amount of custom maps that gamers have made so far are alone better than mario, thats a fact that cant be denied unless you have no clue what your talking about.

RDR was as expected.

Red Dead Redemption my guess is!

Too many to list. For me, Bayonetta and FF13 were great, but SMG2 just left me speechless.

Well SMG2 at the moment, but IMO I liked GoW3.

I can't decide between Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption. I haven't played Starcraft 2 yet though.

I am going out of a limb here and say that I wasn't to crazy for SMG2 (and Im a huge Nintendo fan) It was good, but I feel like ive done that before and got bored with the game. So I only could play it in small 1 hour bursts.

My personal GotY so far is actually Heavy Rain. That game just blew me away and made my jaw drop. First game of the generation to do that.

Wow look at that the poll is perfectly set up to cater to each fanboy, Starcraft II for Hermits who haven't played SMG2 or ME2, ME2 for a few Hermits but more likely Lemmings who haven't played SCII or SMG2, Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Sheep who haven't played SC2 or ME2, and the Other and RDR option for bitter Cows who think God of War III should be on there and haven't played any of the other games. So really this poll might as well be "Which fanboy are you?". Looks like Hermits are winning, funny you can decide something is game of the year in under a week.

Anyway SMG2 or ME2.

Heavy Rain for me so far, but I'll be playing Red Dead Redemption soon, so that might change.

So going by nothing but the trends of past GotY awards, the most likely winner, so far, is SMG2, with the second most likely being GoW3.

I have yet to play SMG2 and I will never play Starcraft 2, so my personal GOTY so far is Heavy Rain. I really enjoyed it.

God War 3 is a sleeper?

Mass Effect 2, But still alot of serious contenders coming out between now and the end of the year so will be hard to say.

I don't think SMG2 has what it takes to be GOTY.

Probably becuase Mass Effect 2 left people with alot of good memories and desperately wanting ME3, SMG2 is getting all the Nintendo fanboy votes and Starcraft 2 is still hot in peoples minds and i'd imagine after 6 months it wouldn't get as many votes. Doesn't really leave any left for RDR.

i dont plan on playing SMG2... so i cant comment on that one.

Mass Effect 2. It scored a 9.0, losing a whole point because of "Scanning planets can get tedious & some glitches & bugs". I didn't find any glitches or bugs at all through two playthroughs, & scanning planets wasn't bad enough to warrant losing half a point, let alone a whole point. A score of 9.0 really doesn't do the game justice. The worst part is the actual guy that reviewed it started trying to defend the score in the Official ME2 thread, as if he had something to prove. GTA4 on the other hand scored a perfect 10 with "occasional problems with friendly AI & minor visual quirks"....

My personal favorites have been God of War III, Galaxy 2, Red Steel 2 and No More Heroes 2.

In the end I see either Mass Effect or Galaxy taking it.
