Comes Prototype:
- It will be an open world game.
- The story revolves around a character called Alex Mercer who has lost all memory and is trying to regain everything he knows during the game.
- Whenever the player kills other characters in the game, he assumes their knowledge, powers and even their look. Meaning the character can shafeshift to any of the people he has killed.
- Knowledge gained from killing and absorbing others will actually be useful during the game for both story purposes and to discover locations of important places and vehicles in the world.
- As you get more powerful your abilities will evolve and you will gain supernatural powers that will allow you to wreak havoc on the world of the game.
- The game features climbing high rise buildings similar to what was done in Crackdown and Assassin's Creed.
- The story takes place in New York as opposed to being set in an imaginary location.
- There are three warring factions involved in a struggle for power: the military, a viral epidemic that mutates people into strange creatures and the player.
- The two other forces control different parts of the city meaning you will be fighting both while they also battle each other for control of New York.
- The super powers allow for more than one approach to situations. You can assume the identity of someone and play the stealth game to get to your objectives or you can try to completely overpower the enemy with your crazy abilities.
- There are three kinds of powers the player will be able to use: Attack powers, defensive powers (shields, defenses) and sense optimization which gives you the infrared and night vision abilities among others. The game promises to have over 750 different unique combinations of powers.
- Over 20 weapons will be included with everything from a missile launcher to a tank or even a fighter jet.
- This is mainly a single player affair but will feature two player online co-op on both Xbox Live and PS Network.
- The developer promises that New York City itself will evolve as well with events in the game and will not remain a static environment (the appearence of the city will change dramatically as the war goes on).
- Persistent destruction is something Radical is aiming for, with damage and buildings and sites not just disappearing after a short time but staying in place. Meaning given city blocks could end up being totally devastated during the course of the game.
- The game is slated for a 2008 release.
- Oh...it's on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
