Forza 6's flaws are few. The pre- and post-race visuals as well as the replays still run at less than 60 frames per second. While maxing out at 30 frames per seconds didn’t hurt the likes of Forza Horizon or Grid 2, going back and forth from the smoothness of a race to the less than fluid scenes at the pit in Forza 6 is off-putting. Then there are the low-resolution liveries, which look great when these designs are tearing up the track at 150 miles per hour, but look less than stellar in the showroom.
As merely the second installment for the Xbox One, Forza Motorsport 6 not only keeps up with the high bar set by Forza 5, it capitalizes on that foundation of quality. The Mod system and the weather effects are reasons enough for Forza 5 enthusiasts to seriously consider this sequel and the abundance of difficulty and assist options makes Forza 6 an immensely accessible driving simulation for newcomers.
Also lol at the comments of that review that think the replays not being 60fps was the reason it got an 8.
The "the law of diminishing returns" is a wild concept to the gaming audience, and honestly to developers as well. It's obviously it would take a lot for turn 10 to ever make a bad Forza game necessarily, but we're at a point where they've made so many that unless they reinvent the racing games it's probably a franchise that peaked creatively at like Forza 3.
I expect a lot of this scored "less than Forza 5"...when it should be like...the Forza 5 review is just shitty, not this one.

As if they wanted to redeem themselves. As for the game, I'm not judging it yet but I hadn't played FM since part 3! And this one I was actually looking forward to.

Because that's not how their reviews work. Haven't bothered to read the review as I couldn't care less about his opinion but I can tell you with 100% certainty that, that bullet point isn't why he gave it an 8. It's simply because he thought it deserved that particular score, they don't start at 10 and knock the score down based on arbitrary aspects like what you're implying.
Looks great, can't wait to play this. I'm glad they realised they overrated Forza 5.

I don't think an FM game can possibly get higher than an 8 again. FM6 is the most advanced FM game with the most changes since and most content since FM 3, with a new engine.

Wow, people were claiming this Forza 6 game set for a definite 10/10 by Gamespot.com in that other thread. 8/10 GS instead, eh?
The logic being that Forza 5 as half baked as it was got a 9/10 at Gamespot.com even though Forza 5 was a 79/100 metascoring game. I think GS just came to their senses and aren't overrating the series anymore.
This does seem to be the best Forza yet though, for fans of racing and Forza.
It's still early, but Forza 6 is sitting at a 89/100 metascore with 26 reviews. It seems GS is right on the money in comparison to Forza 5 which they overrated.

I'm not going to give you a reason. Instead I will say don't trust random reviewers which I've said for years. That's my rule.
Also, the Forza 5 GS review (79/100 metascore) was shitty anyways. F5 should have never scored a 9/10 with less content, but that's ancient history. It was just a silly review that SW giggles at, like pretty much all GS reviews.
Find a few reviewers you trust, learn their names, and follow those reviews. Stay away from random reviews. Also, if use your friends. People will also suggest you play the game to find out for yoursale, but I'm a realist.
I know we don't have time to play everything ever, watch everything ever, listen to everything ever.
I don't trust ANY WEBSITES reviews just because a GS/GB/GI/GT logo is on the review, instead I have my fave reviewers (aka learn the names of reviewers you like) and that's it.
There is stiff competition in the racing genre now. Games like Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, and even Grid to an extent have really stepped up and elevated the genre. Forza and GT are no longer the only big boys in town. An 8 seems fair as the series no longer stands out like it used to due to the competition. Just like Forza dethroned GT, there are other games riding Forza's ass hard looking to overtake.
Looks amazing, and has close to no cons! Forza is victim of the yearly saturation. If we used to see a Forza game every 3 years, i'm sure this would have been getting 90+ scores everywhere.
@SolidTy: I noticed Gamesradar gives most AAA games 6s or 7s and I tend to agree with them a lot nowadays. Maybe they're legit? Otherwise I concur with you on all fronts.

There was some good guys I liked at Gamesradar once upon a time.
Legit I think is subjective based on who you end up liking personally. If you are agreeing with what you read, maybe it's the same few people you like.
My recommendation though is definitely seek out names with the reviews. :)
Never get how a review should be one person's opinion, I don't go to work and do things, say things the way I want, no I follow the procedures and ways that are taught to me, every review should have a schema created for it with assigned points. I dislike some games but can still see they are amazing games for the right audience (mgs), if I reviewed those games I'd still give them a great score based on it meeting the points laid out to me in a schema.
I suck majorly at Halo online, doesn't mean I'll gimp it's score because of that, I can still see it as an amazing online game, even though I suck.

Seriously, Forza should be on a 3 year cycle, even COD is. This score is a reflection of that. They release them so quick that the devs don't have time to truly innovate.
Forza 6 seems to be no different from other Forza since 3. Just bigger and better. Nothing creative or innovative. My opinion though.

I don't agree. This is by far the biggest leap since FM 3.
FM 4 had minor updates, it was an expensive perfection of FM 3. FM 5 was like a highly playable prototype. All of the next gen ideas were there, but the it wasn't perfected and the content wasn't ready.
FM 6 has a new engine, and a whole lot of new features built into the base game that have been asked for since launch. AND all the content that it needs.
My problem with the review is that, this is as whole and a well done, package as you're going to get on a FM game. And the flaws are so minor.
