i personally love this game so far.. survival horror is always a polarizing genre.. people either love it or hate it.

After they disgraced themselves so badly with the Alien Isolation review, they're the ultimate clowns for me.

I just saw the IGN video review of The Evil Within. The game looks amazing!! Gameplay looks great and the graphics look awesome as well. It's probably the best Resident Evil-Type game to ever come out since the remake of very first original Resident Evil (which was better than Resident Evil 4). The Evil Within definitely looks like a better game than Resident Evil 4.

According to Jim Sterling a note was sent with review copies for reviewers to play on the easier difficulty and they provided tips that are found nowhere in the actual game.

For a more cinematic experience? Why not just have them watch a four hour long video of the entire game, Metal Gear Solid style?

its not that hard.. im playing survival and the only times ive died were during some stealth parts

Should I get this game? I could get a reviewer copy, but I'm not sure if it'd be better to hold off and get Sunset Overdrive reviewer copy instead as I probably won't be given both, so I have to make a choice.

I knew they would like this game after they hated Isolation. They seem to prefer shooters to thinkers over at IGNorance.

EDIT: I like Ryan McAffery a lot but I just couldn't resist the IGNorance word-play. After the Isolation debacle here and at IGN, I think only stealth enthusiasts should review stealth games.

I agree.. It's the best game i've played so far on next gen consoles. They reviewed the game so badly I'll never consider an IGN review for a game purchase again.

IGN got the NBA 2K15 spot on ( 7.8 ) IMO and GS was way off ( 9 ).

If you're a fan of RE1 (plus remake), RE2 and RE4, there's no reason not to get The Evil Within.

Try not to sound too Sound Nostalgic. It might raise questions about whether there are any other reasons to play The Evil Within. Actually those questions have already been raised.

Looks like someone bought this survival-horror review! Or Ryan McCaffery is just a shooter fanboy who sucked so much at Alien: Isolation that he took his frustration out on the game and not on his lack-of-skill.

I want to get the The Evil Within, but my spending expenses are tight for the next month.

Without played any of them i must say Alien Isolation looks more interesting than The Evil within. But if you love horror games and got the money get both i guess.

Both The Evil Within and Alien Isolation are excellent games. But I didn't bother getting Alien Isolation yet because The Evil Within was a much more highly anticipated game. The Evil Within definitely looks like the superior game is nearly all aspects, but Alien Isolation still looks like a solid game. It's just that The Evil Within is really a exceptionally well made survival horror game, and those are not that common these days. Five Nights at Freddy's is also an extremely good survival horror game for the price, but of course it can't be compared to big budget survival horror games like The Evil Within and Alien Isolation.

I'm only 10 or 15 minutes into The Evil Within and I'm loving it and the atmosphere is amazing.

Hmm looks like I was wrong about this game. I thought that it looked bad at first. Looks a lot better in the video reviews I've seen.

I have been deciding between Alien and Evil, I think Evil is going to win. The spaceship in Alien looks kinda empty, like everything is very clean. It also sounds like the save system will piss me off greatly. Looks like a watered down Dead Space to be honest.

Evil looks like it could have some good atmosphere and I just played RE4 earlier this year properly for the first time and it was indeed awesome so I'm up for more of that kind of stuff.

The evil within is a weird game. In some moments it strikes me as a really solid game other times it just feels just off.

I like it a lot.....and I wanna say I love it. But i'm not there yet. It doesn't help Idtech5 sucks balls and makes it run like ass sometimes on PS4.....

Anyone play the PC version? How's it run?

I wonder if the fact the game is 768p on PS4 and 640p on Xbox One is gonna change anyone's mind. It shouldn't of course. I'm looking forward to putting this resolution crap to bed.
