The greatest handheld ever sold, arguably the best system of last generation, and indeed, all time... is being discontinued. Nine years after it first hit the market, Nintendo revealed via its financial that the handheld is now being discontinued, after the most successful run for any game console in history. At the end of its lifespan, the Nintendo DS stood at 153.87 million units sold worldwide. Its total software sales worldwide were 933.69 million units, leading to the highest attach rate for any handheld game system in history.
