Not everyone one is willing to git gud.

As stated before. Its niche and actually pretty dumbed down from the souls mechanics. So associating it with souls isn't necessary.
Dark Souls 2 was dumbed down for the masses. Bloodborne looks to be a return to the polished greatness of Demon while changing up the pace and setting. No more turtle players hiding behind giant shields and full armor, no parry exploit, no cheap spells. New environment, transforming weapons, guns, new online.
Hard to not be excited
@FoxbatAlpha: god that guy is so obnoxious in his vids. Tries too hard to be pewdiepie and markiplier. Whatever happened to him here? He finally get too big for this place?
I still think they should make a Star Wars game in the style of 'Souls, and if you get hit once by a light sabre no matter what armour you have on a body part comes off and you die.
Then have some of the boss fights like those fucking annoying this in Jedi Power Battles the things that uppercut you off the side and kill you instantly.
Need more hardcore games.
Does it matter?
If you're an enthusiast of this medium, the stuff the Souls series does is genuinely admirable in this medium. As such the enthusiasts should treat Bloodborne like its a big deal.
Yea, lets treat Mafia 2 like a big deal while we're at it.
Mafia 2 is a big deal, here is an example how not to make a video game.
Good video game design=100% opposite of Mafia 2's design.
Good point. Mafia 2=Souls games.
Was talking gaming with another student that lives down the hall. He has a PS4 and he had no clue what Bloodborne is. I assume by the "outside world" you are referring to the average consumer who does not follow this industry the way we do. Well that is only one that I have asked. I explained to him who is making it, what else they made and he said no thanks. Those games aren't fun. I've long been of the opinion that the average consumer buys what console is popular and MS screwed the pooch on that with their 2013 fiascos. But these people want to play Batman, Madden, COD and such. I remember in the Army another soldier asked me when is Gears of war coming to PS3? This is what the masses know about exclusives and games.
I love the souls games so I hope this is as good as those. I don't care how many copies it sells as long as its enough to make them want to make a sequel. (assuming of course the first one turns out well)
@cainetao11
Sister gets a kick out of all the things I tell her about this Industry. I explained to her what Next Gen was and she was like "Cool" and never ever gave it a 2nd thought ever again, she went back to playing a game on her phone.
And although I am passionate about this hobby, I try to look at games similarly. I don't NEED any of this. I make use of it though. I have had fun on every console I ever bought.
This isn't a must have for me by any means. If I can find it for $40 on sale somewhere within a couple months of launch I will pick it up though. From everything I have seen of the game so far, I really don't like the over overuse of overly dark environments jut for the sake of being overly dark. Yes... I get it, but overdoing it is kind of turning me away. Which the games in the Souls series have never done to me before.
I'd be surprised if the Souls games cost anywhere near the amount of money that most AAA Western games blow through.
@Mr-Powers
What ? How was Dark Souls 2 "dumb down for the mass" ?
If it was I wouldve played it.
Read all the complaints on reddit and other Dark Soul boards. Part of the reason this game has hype. People always talk about DS2 being "b-team" and dumbed down from part 1 and Demon's.
