""I would like people to play it once…because that's life. Life you can only play once…I would like people to have this experience that way."'

Of course, in the end, it is a game, and Cage understands that people will naturally want to go back and play through again, and even perhaps reload a previous save point to avoid unpleasant results that might occur because of actions taken in the game.

To this, Cage says, "I'm fine with that, but the right way to enjoyHeavy Rainis really to make one thing because it's going to be your story. It's going to be unique to you. It's really the story you decided to write…I think playing it several times is also a way to kill the magic of it."

Umm I'll pass. I'm, already on my second play though. I didn't pay $50 bucks to only play this game once. I really do not see a right or wrong way to playing tis game (or any Adventure title that has a similar set up like HR)

This news is Old, very old. It's true once you beat the game, you play it in a whole different perspective, the playthroughs past the first one will feel different. But lots of people want to see all the game has to offer I am one of them.

Sure I'd only play it once. If he's willing to sell it to me for $15, considering it only takes around 3 days to beat it.

I'll play it once and sell it. I really wouldn't be able to sit through the starting scenes a second time ...

I know what he means. Its like those old Make your Adventure books. First time is a charm, seconds not so much. And I like his idea, its a great one indeed. It would be amazing if we could wipe out our memories and replay it like that :D

Wish I could play it at least once through. I've got the copy right now, almost got through Chapter 4 and now anytime I attempt to load the game it goes to a black screen and freezes my PS3. This problem seems to be affecting quite a few people too. It really sucks. :(

But I'll be playing it a couple of times. If he didn't want people to play it more than once, he should have done the trophies where you can get them all in one game. There is a trophy that says "See All Possible Endings." Not really helping Cage's cause now is it?

I get what he means. The game's just more personal the first time by. Because you're not thinking of the results knowing what one of the aactions leads to. You're reacting with everything as an unknown. I didn't replay ME2 for the same reason. My first playthrough to me is my real playthrough. Anything else is just not my playthrough.

Totally agree. Played it once and enjoyed the hell out of it. The story has been told, so I just go to certain chapters and do the opposite actions of what I did on my playthrough to try to pick up some more trophies.

I'm selling mine to a co-worker for $40, so I'll take a slight loss, but yeah, kinda odd whe the director comes out and says that. It can be taken a lot of different ways.

Yeah, I'm only half-joking when I say that. lol. i understand where he's coming from but at today's prices it's a bit presumptuousto say something like that. In this market, replay value is key.

Not sure if this quote is taken out of context or anything, because I remember him saying for your first playthrough don't restart a save because an outcome didn't go your way. If a person dies then he dies. Don't restart.

No, I think a lot of you may be taking it too literal. Maybe it's intended to be but I think it's should be more like "the first time will will be the most impacting". I think that's with any game but especially with Heavy Rain where all your choices and mistakes really effect you. Knowing all the QTEs and when they happen, knowing who the Origami Killer is, and knowing how to go about the investigation spoils some of that impact.

I'm on my second playthrough and while knowing who the Origami Killer is, it's sort of interesting but I know for certain I'm not having as much fun as I did the first time. It's neat to see all the other choices I have and actually expand the story by doing different things but that first time was a blast.

I can understand that. Playing it several times for all the different outcomes could kill the magic. I usually play games only once because I want that feeling that I've accomplished something new and refreshing, playing it again would just ruin all the good memories I have. I love Shadow of Chernobyl but I have a hard time liking Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat as much. They just don't have the magic of experiencing the wastes, the mutants and the atmosphere for the first time. And now I don't want to touch SoC anymore because I want to remember the game as it was the first time I played it.

I can't even see why you would want to play it more than once anyway. Everyone keeps saying that they'll beat it for times, etc. You probally won't even want to beat it again after the first playthrough because spending 8-10 hours to see something differant happen=fail. Blockbuster here I come.

Perhapes you just have money to burn then.. Why would I play this and have to pay $5 per hour.. When there are other games out there that can get me 25 cents or less per hour? Heavy Rain is nothing new, its merely a ressurection of a dead genre.. A genre that has been around for decades.

He might be right, in a way, but that's not going to stop me from multiple plays. My first playthrough of a game is always the "real" one anyway, the outcome of consequent playthroughs won't affect my reaction and feelings to my initial playthrough, that can never be recreated.

It has 22 outcomes for the endings. Also the core experience has over 400 different paths by the choices you make.

The game isn't one big cut scene. If you had played it you would know that.

Some of the ignorant stuff that people say around here... you can break anything down to it's basest components and make it sound like crap. Forza 3 is just driving. GTA is just killing hookers. Halo is just shooting. "One big cutscene", what utter nonsense. I truly believe people that say this still haven't even seen a video that shows a controller character walking around. They think it literally is a movie that just plays itself and you occasionally interject with a QTE button prompt.
