Dark Souls 2 Hype Thread GS score 9.0 (56k warning)

After watching some Dark Souls streams id say its definitely a AAA title.

What worked for me was having a Divine and Occult weapon. I used a Claymore and Zweihander. Occult damage works well against divine enemies.

Divine and Occult had some poor scaling though, unlike other weapons in Dark Souls. For instance Enchanted and even Magic weapons have nicer scaling, or on the opposite side fire and lightning have better raw damage. Divine and occult were sort of in the middle which wasn't amazing.

What rev3 said about the hit detection concerns me a bit. Hopefully it's nowhere as cheap as they described it.

Annoys me that I have to wait until Friday to play this. Staggered releases in a digital age can just go die somewhere

But the game is getting damn good scores everywhere and I'm not even a little surprised.

Went with my usual Knight class, I gave up on Swordsman lol. Love this freaking game so far, been playing the past hours.

I thought Dark Souls was good but vastly overrated. I will definitely pick up Dark Souls 2 eventually on PC, since it seems to be a solid sequel to the original Dark Souls.

Did you play Demon's or Dark Souls 1 before? Just curious :) I know you don't like super hard or punishing games all that much

can anyone confirm if the items being sold by merchants in the game are limited? I heard that it is..

Seriously though, Souls games are a good time. They fill you with a great sense of achievement. But they're not for busier people

Always been intrigued by the DS games ...

Have spells been upgraded or changed in any way? And what about Pyromancies?

I've seen nobody dropping hints on this but talking about downgrades, min/max stats, etc. -_-

Absolutely excellent. Two 9.0 multi-platform games in one day! Totally looking forward to digging into this one.

I must be the only person on the planet who isn't excited for this game. No interest at all. Didn't enjoy how the prior games played. That said, I'm glad it's reviewing well. The series has a pretty large following, so it's good to see the game live up to prior installments, as well as fan expectations. Good on the dev team.

I assumed Amazon would release day ship this, but they didn't. I get it tomorrow....not happy

My problem is my time allowed for gaming these days. I dont have the time and admittedly the patience these days to learn/practice games like this. I earned my striped with Ninja Gaiden 1-2 on NES and SMB games.

You should give it another go with DkSII mayne.

Aside from difficulty, these games don one of the best stats/leveling mechanics in RPG's.

Since they only released this game for last gen consoles (specifically PS3), I'm going to cross my fingers that the touted Demon's Souls 2 will come out for the PS4.

Hopefully, depends on how well it's received on the channel. Pisses me off when people just watch one game on the channel and that does really well and they dislike every other video I do. But that's entertainment in general I guess

Alright, well I've said it before and I'll say it again, any DS2 videos you do I know I'll be watching them :P .

Your Skate and Stick of Truth videos do get a disproportionate amount of views compared to most of your other videos from what I have seen so yeah.

Skate 3 more than anything else. Which is great, I mean I shouldn't complain. but it's when people constantly demand it and don't watch anything else then it gets a bit annoying.

Would be great to be able to play anything and get the views those things do but it's not that easy :P
