What about the "Welcome Newbies" board? That board is designed to help level 1-5 posters if they have a problem, but if they can't do this they might be turned away from Gamespot. Granted, the solution is as easy as creating a sticky in that board that says "Level 1-5 posters' problems here!" or something of the like.

I would like to see that cap on these boards as much as you do, but traffic for Gamespot might slow down if that were to happen and maybe that is why Gamespot hasn't implemented it yet. Just an idea...

Well I don't see much that I would disagree with, but I do agree with The-Very-Best. A topic turning into a discussion about the TC's opinion does happen a lot, through I think we can say something else beside our opinion without it getting locked? Like if the topic has a link, maybe we could put a very brief summary on what the link goes to?

I would love to see a level cap as well but this is what I told Jandurin earlier and I think its something to consider or maybe a reason as to why Gamespot hasn't done a level cap yet.

Would SW really be that detrimental to the discussion if they were combined?

Would it not be just as bad if SW were forced to go to GGD to talk about game announcements?

The same flood would occur either way, and at least this setup would not neuter discussions about games in SW since they could be viewed as OT (even though, IMO, games are the most vital part of the SW thing).

This sticky has been in negotiations for weeks now... if you're not aware there was a sticky prior to this one that was removed so the mod team could re-evaluate it based on compaints from SW users. I got a frigging point loss violation slapped on me yesterday, because I made a post begging the mods to do something about the um... *ahem* less than proper pics flooding our threads yesterday. I know it wasnt about a console or anything, however, I am at work and just wanted to see something done about it, so my rear didnt get popped for viewing that kind of material at work. Thread was locked, which was fine... that means a mod saw it, which was what I was hoping for, but then I find out I get a point loss violation for disruptive posting?

I am sorry, but thats complete garbage. I didnt deserve that. Attempts at politely contacting mods to rectify this have given me the basic answer of sorry, nothing we can do about it. If we are going to become this heavily scrutinized, whats the point of even posting here anymore? Yeah, I am furious about this, and I am not going to just go quietly into the night about it. I was wronged, and I have a feeling this is just the beginning.

Sure, there are posts on here where its obvious the mods need to do something about it, and sometimes something harsh. IE the poster I was REFERRING to in my thread yesterday. Yet I get popped? Sorry, but I'm not going to take someone smacking my hand, claiming to be showing me I'm being irresponsible, when I am pretty sure I know WAY more about the meaning of the word. (That word being responsibility)

I suppose implying opinion as fact would go there as well. and regardless if you agree that it should, if they do take your suggestions people will be modded for stating an absolute (ie this is why PC gaming is dying).

I think before anyone can post a comment they should be forced to read the OP. If they find it too long then stay out of teh thread.
