Correction: PS3 Getting Least Use from All Ages - IGN

Has this been posted here? This correction is dated today.

Have you completed your education? Your reading skills seem to be a bit off. The 360 is significantly used more frequently by everyone 10 and older according to the most reliable tracking company on the planet. I think "10 and older" includes educated people.

The 11.98 days played per month for the 27+ Wii also doesnt work out correctly. You cant play fewer days, fewer times per day, and fewer minutes per session than everyone else and still come in second.

That's what I'm wondering, it's not adding up. The PS3 is used more days, has more sessions, has longer session lengths but the percentage of minutes is less. How is that possible?

I don't know. It would have been nice for IGN to remake the chart with the correct numbers in the correct places instead of just a written retraction on the error.

It has some notable advantages but overall it's nowhere near as good

The IGN CORRECTION article linked in my original post shows that the 360 is used significantly more often by all gamers ages 10 and up. 10 and up includes educated people, since the correction states that the 360 also won the 27+ category by a mile.

When the PS3 completely stops getting third party exclusives due to a lack of dev support, and the 360 keeps adding to its AAe and AAAe library, it will most certainly affect you if you are a PS3 owner.

Actually, it could have been a stratified sample. Considering the US installbase of both ratios, it seems right that PS3 should take up little time. After all, the gameplay sessions, number of sessions and length of sessions are almost identical between X360 and PS3.

No. That's what the original article said. they corrected it to show that the 360 gets more gaming time across all demographics.

I haven't touched my 360 in 4 months. That could be because I have a PC.

In case you haven't been paying attention, there is no way to get the percentages shown in this study based on the numbers given. This is as inaccurate as they come.

If it was based off instal base then the first set of data would be much closer between 360 and Wii. Not a 60%/20% split
