Thats a lot of speculation and certainly unlikely based on anything other than your fantasies. Sorry.

Any timeline that predicts the future can be said to be accurate until after all the events come true. Your bias in the first entry doesnt help either. Now the timeline is possible...even likely but it is still just a prediction.

Ur thread fails on so many levels. Please fix that crystal ball of yours. All it shoots out is false comments that hold no merits. PS3 has dug itself a giant hole, that will take it almost till 09 or 10 to finally catch up and take the lead, if it ever will take the lead. Like it or not Smash and Mario Galaxy will sell more consoles. Japanese devs will start making more games for the wii because it is a hit in japan. Halo 3, plus a price drop, and that u can get GTA 4 with the cheaper console will lead to great sales for 360 this holiday season. 360 and Wii will extend there lead over PS3, just like they have done now. PS3 will be fighting an uphill battle for the rest of this gen.

You should pull "accurate" out of your title and put in "prediction".

How come anyone I ever see with an XBL Gamertag always has some fanboyish comment towards others? You guys arelike a cult that just goes around dissing people all day.

In reality, it's obvious you're afraid of the PS3's potential, and it's future success over the 360.

Acually there was no fanboyism about what i said. I just find it funny he thnks the ps3 will stomp the 360 in the ground.

I fixed it for you!

2007 - Wii wins in sales. PS3 struggles to find people to spend $600 on it. Xbox 360 enjoys another great holiday due to Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, *AND* a price drop.

First half 2008 - Wii fans are treated to several great titles and additonal online service. By this point the Wii is already to the number one selling console of the next generation.

First half of 2008 - Xbox 360 continues to have strong sales due to strong game selection and cheaper price point. The Wii and DS continue to dominate the sales charts. The PS3 sales picked up for the holiday season. New 360 owners more confident due to 65nm die shrink, xbox 360 now more reliable than the PS3.

First half of 2008 - Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Alan Wake, Eternal Sonata, and other X360 games come out to great review. PS3 owners still saying, "just wait"

Mid 2008 - Games finally start to come out for the PS3, while the PS3 is still in third place, it enjoys a sales increase and PS3 owners rejoice. The Wii is still in first place, followed by the Xbox 360.

Mid 2008 - PS3 starts to match the X360 in units sold per month in NA. It still can't catch up to the Wii in JP.

2008 - onwards - The Wii is the clear winner while the PS3 and Xbox 360 fight it out for the HD market. They PS3 almost matches the Xbox 360 numbers before the Xbox 3 is released on Nov. 2011

2012 - rinse and repeat.

*shakes head* people aren't going to stop buying the Wii in the next few months, if the casuals haven't realized that the system is weak yet, why are the suddenly going to realize it in 2008? You might say "the general consumer is stupid, this thing is weak, they're getting ripped off" - and I'd agree, but their tastes aren't going to change overnight.

Second, the 360 isn't going to get outpaced by the PS3. No one gives two poops about Blu-Ray, it's a gaming console. Even with a price cut, well, has a $500 system ever outsold a $300 or $250 system? 360 price cuts in response to a PS3 price cut would push it closer to the $200 "sweet spot" - while the PS3 would still be seen as insanely expensive.

Third - your flop predictions would apply more to unproven PS3 titles than to proven series on Xbox 360. What titles are going to flop? Alan Wake? Halo Wars? Lost Odyssey? Fallout 3? Get real...

Mid 2008 - PS3 mega titles? What "mega titles"? Everything great on the PS3 has been delayed until late 2008, which is a nice way of saying "if sales don't pick up, we're going multiplatform or canceling this game".

PS3 will pick up in 2008, but if you're hoping for it to take first place, you're out of your mind.

Not really - the PS3 "mega hits" come in Late 2008, the price cuts are predicted for October, and early 2008 doesn't have a lot of hyped 360 games, it's not a big "game release" time. The only thing he got right was calling MP3 a rehash... without signficantly improved graphics, it really is going to feel like MP2 to me ... just another game that doesn't live up to MP1 or Super Metroid.

1. Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not flop.

2. The fad will die is what they said with the DS.

3. 360 will continue to do as well it is doing.

4. HD movies will not take off until 2009 imo

5. PS3 is strugling to even make over 100000 units so it's not looking good for the PS3.

How come anyone I ever see with an XBL Gamertag always has some fanboyish comment towards others? You guys arelike a cult that just goes around dissing people all day.

In reality, it's obvious you're afraid of the PS3's potential, and it's future success over the 360.

How could anybody be afraid of a console? I have a 360 it has games that appeal to me coming out, I don't have a PS3 because it has no games that appeal to me coming out.

2007 - Wii wins in sales. PS3 struggles to compete while 360 holds a close second. (Due to price cut + Halo combo)Many titles are announced for Wii. Wii is clearly the winner by the end of the year. PS3 has a price cut nearly at the same time as the 360, but the price is still nowhere near mainstream. Bigger tittles formerly PS3/360 will be ported/moved to Wii.(This could also happen in '08)

2008 - Wii increased compared to the same time frame in 2007 due to massive success of the big three. Some of the new third party games start coming out increasing sales even moreXBOX 360 sales are slightly higher than '07 but with the Wii selling so much the gap widens. PS3 sales are lower than the '07 sales with spikes for big games(some of which may have been ported)

Onward - We shall see Nintendomination not seen since the NES with Nintendo owning up to 60% of gaming hardware.(console+handheld)Console gaming will see another large growth like in the NES generation and in the PS/N64 generation. Japan will be more relevant by the end of this generation than last.(In terms of market percentage)

XBOX 360 will still get plenty of games due to its amazing software sales and some of those will be ported/made multiplat for the PS3 so don't worry you guys will still games.

Fixed it up for you.

2007 - Wii wins in sales. 360 and PS3 struggle to compete despite the obvious superioty of the PS3.

First half 2008 - Wii fad begins to wane. Fanboys realises it's just a GameCube. Wii sales plummet after several flops (Mario Galaxy is a rehash, Brawl is a rehash, Corruption is a reahash).

First half of 2008 - XBOX 360 suffers sales decline becuase people decide to buy a PS3 which has gone down in price and Blu-ray has won the war

First half of 2008 - Many hyped 360 games flop due to unrealistic expecetations of fans

Mid 2008 - PS3 releases mega titles that pummel the 360 and Wii into dirt

Mid 2008 - PS3 sales pick up dramatically and the true potential is realised.

2008 - onwards - PS3 reclaims its rightful title as king of the consoles.

Hmm, fanboy post of the month. I really wish people would stop pretending to have in their posession a magic crystal ball that can tell the future. Honestly now, as one who would rather have a PS3, with 360/PC close behind, I say just shut up. I love gaming, but I hate fanboys.

By the end of the year the XBox360 will still be leader in the market with the great success of Halo 3 and GTA4 whereas Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Galaxy get good sales for the Wii. The XBox360 will be leading the sales but the Wii won't be far behind.

2008: The PS3 will get some good titles but the Wii will still continue to be the best seller followed by the XBox360 with PS3 not far behind it. By the end of 2008 the Wii shgould be market leader followed by the XBox360 and PS3 still a long way behind.

The Wii is still gonna continue to sell better than the PS3. By 2010 the Wii should be doing really well in the sales still ahead of the XBox360 and PS3 still in last place.

The PS3 has no chance of beating the Wii it sells about 300,000 less per month.

First half of 2008: ... people decide to buy a PS3 which has gone down in price and Blu-ray has won the war.

I do not see HD being a factor in 2008 - people still will mostly buy DVD,not HD stuff. The earliest when it can become a significant factor is 2009, but by that time even if one of the formats wins, the stand along player will be much cheaper than PS3, so that it is again not a factor for PS3. And HD-DVD players already are quite cheap when compared to PS3.

2012 - rinse and repeat.

killaj2786

Now that's something i can agree with...

I think this one is was closer to what will happen. Though I think the 360 still could win this gen.

There is litterally nothing happening right now that would make it seem like any of your prodictions will come true. Nintendo's big 3 are coming out at the end of the year and all the numbers are moving in Nintendo's favor. When those titles hit (if they are good) Nintendo is probably going to be unstoppable.

On top of that the PS3 has virtually nothing to offer right now and not much else in 2008. The 360 has got some great stuff coming down the pipe but Sony has got a few big name exclusives. It's simply not enough to change the momentum of this gen.

At least this troll thought his post through...

Gamepro said Metroid Prime 3 looked fantastic graphically.

Its ok guys, we all like to dream of the things we can't have.

Late 2007 - X360 and Wii sell like hot cakes, Wii ends up getting most sales followed closely by the X360. The PS3 sales are low and Sony promises PS3's will be able to cure AIDS by 2008

Early 2008 - Wii still selling like hot cakes with the 360 numbers being fairly good and stable. PS3's big guns like MGS4 comes out and finally get ahead of the GBA.

Mid 2008 - X360 announces list of great games coming out in late 2008. Wii still in lead but sales slow down bit. PS3 delays a cure for AIDS untill 2009.

Late 2008 - X360 and Wii go neck and neck in sales while PS3's collect dust.

Early 2009 - Same old same old

Late 2009 - PS3's cure for AIDS becomes major flop, gives people diarrhea.

WIIRUS

Ps3 will not win.

Neither will the 360. Both consoles have major flaws that are going to have them both be fighting for second place.

The PS3 is really expensive and with the lack of games not available yet and that as of right now its exclusive lineup only cosists of about 25-30 games at the most and a lot of them will not be available until next year, Sony is having a tough time justifying getting people to buy the PS3. Sales are also really slow around the world, having only just reached a million in Europe is quite bad for a console that has been out for several months, however for the price of the system, that is not too terrible.

The 360 lacks a lot of Japanese support, the only devs who are making games are the ones who got on the bandwagon because the 360 released earlier then the other consoles, they are already feeling the impact of their mistakes with 2 Japanese 360 games that people were hoping to be successful, 99 Nights and Blue Dragon, both of which sold terribly in Japan even though one had high reviews. The fact that 360 sales are abysmal in one of the most important gaming regions in the world, is going to harm the amount of support that the console gets from both developers and gamers. And everyone knows that if you dont have the games, you wont get the fans. Its not a matter of people not liking Microsoft, its a matter of the games being targeted more towards mainly Western and European gamers then the Japanese ones, hence why the Wii is outselling the competition.
