BTW there is where the link takes you.
Kinda like PS3 having a lack luster game library for years, showing a bunch of ports to take them away at launch, BC first two console then take it away, no rumble then adds rumble, ect. Damage is not done.[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"][QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]
Even if Microsoft changes their policies, the damage is already done. They're going to be in for one really difficult product launch come November.

100+ million PS2 sold at PS3 launch compared to ~80 million PS3 sold when the PS4 launches? Damage was done.
Do not know what that has to do with what I said but ok. Also you do not have any official numbers saying 80+ million so stop.[QUOTE="Wasdie"]lems are trying way to hard to find things to get happy about i don't see any change here ..it the same BS with much weaker console and 100$ moreThe official update was still weak. The console is still pretty restrictive and binding you to an online connection. Used games and trading games are still very unclear.Â
Still $100 more for worse hardware and a whole mess of legal confusion.

Update on June 19, 2013: As a result of feedback from the Xbox community, we have changed certain policies for Xbox One reflected in this blog. Some of this information is no longer accurate  please check here for the latest.

Should probably slow your roll till it's confirmed bud. I know. But I can't help it. Don and Major are dead sexy.Like the PS3 was supposed to dominate. And did the 360 dominate the ps3...... oh wait nopeÂ
+55 million install base from last gen Profitable since 2007. 50 million XBL install base. MS 7 billion pure profit per quarter. Sony -80 million install base Lost tens of billions since PS3 launched. Lost all the money they made on PS1 and PS2 Nuff said. You use internet explorer... WTF man... WTF?hexashadow13
Been using it since the mid 90's. Nothing wrong with it.
IGN and Gametrailers are reporting it now. I am guessing Gamestop and not taking any more preorders might of had something to do with this. Now if Microsoft drops to $399 they are back in the game and quick. (They were never out of it though.)
Major Nelson also states blatantly wrong information[QUOTE="heeweesRus"]
Doubt it. Major Nelson has stated that they will not change anyting about the X1.

I really, really hope this is true, because I really want Forza Motorsport 5 and Killer Instinct, but don't want to support the inane DRM policies.Â
I preordered a Day One Edition on Amazon, just in case this is legit.Â
[QUOTE="jimmypsn"]No they took out the parts where it talks about check in. They are planning to update it soon.Truth_Hurts_U
You still need to have an internet connection. Still now word on how used works.
so nothing changed ?!:O[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="kuraimen"]But I thought lems loved those features and they were the future of gaming. What happened lems?? :(kuraimen
making stuff up again?
Lol STFU there are a lot of lems who were saying this was the future.and loved it? sure. you're making stuff up again.
Yeah. Also Sony has just been offering a better product overall. Cheaper, better hardware, a larger focus on games, and just less bad press.

I should have clarified, I suppose. I'm not talking about the entire console's life span. I'm talking about this holiday season. Microsoft's mixed messaging is going to hurt them and fixing it is not at all easy. Come November, some people are still going to their friends, family, etc that the Xbox One blocks used games/requires an online connection, despite the fact that that might not very well be the case now. This mixed messaging is as bad as Nintendo's was with the Wii/Wii U branding at launch and conveying why the GamePad is a must have feature.
Sony's just put themselves in a much more favourable light ever since the Xbox One reveal, even if they were only telling half truths on stage at E3. I mean just look at how people all around the gaming world reacted by saying Sony the clear winner of E3 only because of the price and stance on used games. If the DRM issue wasn't such a big deal, Sony would be taking major flak for charging for online play now and for their weak exclusive content showing for launch.
I really want quantum break and D4 plus would rather Titanfall on console. Soi I am also hoping it is legit.I really, really hope this is true, because I really want Forza Motorsport 5 and Killer Instinct, but don't want to support the inane DRM policies.Â

Do not know what that has to do with what I said but ok. Also you do not have any official numbers saying 80+ million so stop.PS3 will never be as good as the PS2 was because Sony damaged their own brand with their stupidity and cockiness. Never said anything about having official numbers for PS3. I am guessing that they will barely hit 80 million PS3 sold by around holiday 2013 when the PS4 is rumored to launch. Point is, the damage from MS's PR disaster will follow it through this generation just like Sony's last generation.
so nothing changed ?!:Oshadiezz2012
As of right now no... But there is suposted to be a link... Does nothing and only takes you to the news.
All we have is the old info.
Dude, it's not that fast. Sony decided AFTER Microsofts E3 conference to price their system at 399 and to put the message out they support used games. Contrary to what they said, they didn't have that plan all along. It's called competition. Microsoft doing this is showing they are trying to compete.Don't you ppl find it strange that it happened so fast? I mean, MS has apparantly made its complete strategy on that crap they tried to advertise and they suddenly dropped everything all together only less than 10 days after E3 ... has this been confirmed ?

[QUOTE="clone01"][QUOTE="NEWMAHAY"] Major Nelson also states blatantly wrong informationMajor Nelson states what Microsoft tells him to state. That's his job. He stated that removing the online check and DRM functionality would be very difficult in an interview with Angry Joe. Was that BS, or could this possibly lead to a launch delay? Most likely BS. BS that Microsoft told him to say. He's public relations. He's not the one who implements these policies. He's just the one trying to convey it to the consumer using guidelines set by the corporate higher-ups.Â

yeah, it looks like that feature has been canceled :(Does this mean we can no longer carry our entire X1 game libraries from console to console?

Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.
For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.
Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.
You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.
So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:
An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.
These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.
We appreciate your passion, support and willingness to challenge the assumptions of digital licensing and connectivity. While we believe that the majority of people will play games online and access the cloud for both games and entertainment, we will give consumers the choice of both physical and digital content. We have listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds.
Thank you again for your candid feedback. Our team remains committed to listening, taking feedback and delivering a great product for you later this year.
