BUSTED. Seriously, I don't know why people still continue to use the myth that all PC gamers are hunched over a 19" screen.

Oh yeah, the best game in the world:

Everyone who has an HDtv knows they come, generally, with VGA (and every other kind of) ports.

its even funnier because MS designed its own OS just just to be used with TV's and with home media centers...known as windows media center.

I have no clue who said that one. Anyway, I'd rather a monitor and a desk...to be honest I get very uncomfortable on my couch (I have nice couches too) when playing games.

it's very surprising to still see people think computers cant hook up to HDTVs. HDTV's output considerably inferior resolution compared to a monitor for gaming computers.

these people ever heard of DVI-HDMI cables? new graphics cards will come with HDMI anyway.

ive got the same case btw, amazing case with amazing cooling.

I can hook up my PC to a 50" moinitor..but in all honesty it's 5% games and 95% other things so there's no point.

Yeah i might do that to play offline multiplayer on my consoles on the tv, while i use a part of the screen to play on pc when i'm alone... Hm but those things are still really expensive. So for now i'll just settle with my 19' widescreen, which works ok too.

But hermits always laugh at how crappy 720p and 1080p is. Now its optimal. Make up your mind guys. And whats with all these PC threads. Ever since that article came out with the guy bragging about GLOBAL pc gaming being less than half the size of US (one country) console gaming, hermits have been on a rampage to make up for it.

We dont? its a devil advocate trick applied to consolites that include monitors/KB/Mouse/Speakers/OS in PC price argeuments.

But hermits always laugh at how crappy 720p and 1080p is. Now its optimal. Make up your mind guys. And whats with all these PC threads. What? nobody says 720p or 1080p is "crap" ... hell my monitor only goes up to 1050P .... though ALL my games run at it unlike consoles... which alot of bigger games now are becoming 600P.....

Boasting technology they couldnt live up to.

thats just this gamer's choice. dont generalise even if its your best tactic to make a point. if you want better resolution, you simply buy a DELL 30" WS or equivalent that renders more than 1080p for cheaper than an HDTV of similar size and lower spec. its the user's FREEDOM OF CHOICE again...something console gamers seem to forget.

Each his own...

I play own my couch and don't have any problems with it. I game on my chair for my PC and Wii and have no problems... and then in some cases for Wii I stand up and have no problems for that.

Exactly. Anyone who owns a HDTV can see the 15-pin d-sub input (monitor in) on their HDTV. Well, most HDTVs.

Here's the problem, hermits. Most homes don't have their computer in the main TV room. Most have one HDTV and one main computer. But most don't have that computer just sitting next to their couch or TV. Its in an office.

So while PC gaming on your main TV is great for dorms or small apartments, not so feasible in a normal home.

I really don't think anyone said you COULDN'T, just that most WOULDN'T. Besides, I think most people were thinking of hooking it up to something much larger than a monitor, not just a little larger. I can hook my laptop up to my 61" HDTV and watch stuff streaming from netflix, but I wouldn't move my desktop over there so I could play a game with a keyboard and mouse. That's how you end up with that horrible nerd posture...

Exactly; I don't have a laptop at the moment, and I have no desire to move my desktop over to my TV, just so I can have a bigger monitor. Then again, I don't play PC games that often, so that probably has something to do with it as well...;)

I hooked up my PC to my HDTV a while back. Its pretty cool to game on a screen that big, but the novelty wore off pretty quick, and I can honestly say I prefer a monitor, or at least sitting a lot closer to the screen than I was.

Now all this thread needs is brokenrabbit to come in with pics of his living room and his projector that he uses to play flight sims on a screen the size of his wall.

lol, i dont have pics, but i do have a projector. its not HD so its no good now to me, but playing the ps2 on it a few years ago was very fun. 96" of screen, and we could flip our screen around and poof, now we have a green screen for movie editing.

I have enough trouble following objects on my 32" TV when it's across my room, I can't imagine sitting right in front of it, lol. 19" 4:3 is perfect for me.

But on this subject, does anyone know of a good cable set where I can hook up my PC to my TV in another room? I need like 5 metres or so of cable, so I wonder if there's a company that makes a hub that will connect VGA and USB ports with enough cable to travel to another room.

Well...there is a lot of people having problems with not being able to run it's optimal resolution, but other than that there is no problems with doing this. Some TV's have a driver cd for PC's included.

One of your HDMI inputs is probably DVI compatible, so if you have a converter, you can use DVi.
