"Quantic Dream's PlayStation 3 adventure Beyond: Two Souls will make an appearance at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, Sony Computer Entertainment announced today. 

A one-hour scene from Beyond: Two Souls will be screened on April 27 alongside a "major trailer" and a "Tribeca Talks" panel featuring actor Ellen Page and director David Cage. The event will be livestreamed on the PlayStation Blog"

The Walking Dead doesn't have much traditional gameplay, but at least you are usually in the game.  You have to be paying attention so you can respond to dialogue and situations accordingly.

You may not like this system, but it beats the hell out of cutscenes.

I dont understand people's issue with games like beyond 2 souls. The developers realized that people love watching movies and people love playing games. So wouldnt it be great if we put the 2 together!? This is why the art world never takes video games seriously as a form of art, because gamers are so narrow minded. If anything doesn't conform to their strict ideas of what a game is, they complain about how its not a game. Could you imagine if the fine arts were like that? Picaso would never have been considered an artist. Jackson Pollock would never have been considered an artist. and so on and so forth. I understand if you don't like David Cage's games. Just dont buy them, end of story. And its not like this is a COD phenomenon where every single game being developed is trying to imitate. Games like B2S, Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain and so forth are niche games with a small dedicated audience. No developer out there is sacrificing the integrity of their games to try and copy them, so I dont even understand why people complain.

All of Cage's games have been critically acclaimed and your personal opinion about about the story is, needless to say, not necessary. 

The point is, there is a huge market for this type of game. Heavy Rain sold well and sits at 87% on meta.

TC looks to be a hypocrite:

I chose it because it portrays a guy playing a game and being amazed by it and almost becoming teary eyed. This represented me well because I also look at games most times in astonishment, not to a teary eyed level (unless it's to the moon ) but almost the same wide eyed, low hanging jaw expression

But reviews are just other people's opinions and metacritic is just a collection of all those opinions. So why should any of those matter more than champs opinion? cos they get paid?

David Cage is the worst thing to have happened to this industry. He's a wannabe movie maker who can't make it in Hollywood, and now he vents out his frustrations by trying to make games non interactive. Before you call me out on it, there are multiple games with a strong focus on the narrative and gimped interactivity; but most of the times, the writing and storytelling in those games is beyond excellent, which is why they work. David Cage is such a horrible writer and storyteller though that it is not even funny.DropsofJupiter

I also remember seeing before (can't remember where though if I even did see it) that Cage hates when people call his games movies. I found this Ironic, so it's kinda why I made a thread on it.

Even if you wanted to play that card that vast majority of those positive reviews also point out the bad writing misfires with the glaring plot holes and dialogue delivery.

 

But sure there is a market for adventure. Which is like pointing out the sky is blue. My comments were directly that it's insulting to compare it to The Walking Dead, because that game actually has a good narrative and plot. Heavy Rain was praised more so for being unique and the personalized nature of the experience with how the plot can go on different paths through the players actions(or lack of actions). jg4xchamp

My comment wasn't used to compare the game in anything more than a gameplay sense. People want this type of game. You are the one who wants to jump on the soapbox and squawk about David Cage and the story in his games. Again, I have no interest in hearing it...2008 already happened. It's done. 

Games have always been showcased in places not intended for them.

Deadpool the game was announced in Comic-con last year.
