I was wondering , what is de best spiderman and on which system?

The last good spiderman I played was somewhere in 2001 I think. There's a bunch of them i didn't play but I played a very crappy one a couple of years ago, can't remember the name though.

Maximum Carnage on the Genesis and Spider-Man: The Movie on the GCN, for me. The only thing I liked about Spider-Man 2 was the web-slinging, but most people call that one the best.

The one I bought on Sega Genesis. My brother and I would smoke and crack up playing it. There were the usual cast of villains Electro, Venom, Sandman, and Kingpin was the final boss that you had to hit with your drop kick precisely on the nose while making sure to slow the chain lowering Mary Jane into a pit of death.

What always cracked us up though was the "escaped gorilla" in Central park? And as my brother called him, "suit and tie guy" who would jab you at windows of buildings you climbed.

Spider-Man 2 is gonna get a lot of votes since it was the first to have web swinging in the open world. I think Ultimate Spiderman was much better though. My all time favorite though is the original 3D Spiderman for PC/N64/PS1

spiderman 2 on xbox was great as was ultimate spiderman. My personal favorite was the first game where you got to play as different spider-men, I forget the name of it but there was a noire spidey, regular spidey, future spidey and one more.

Spider Man 3 not because of the story, not because of the fighting (because both were Horrible) but simply because of the Web Swinging through the city ESPECIALLY on the Wii. The Web Swinging was done with either hand, whichever you wanted the web to shoot from, you used that hand and it made swinging through buildings and trees etc feel much more accurate than just pressing a button and he throws out a web on a cloud and swings from nothing. There had to be a physical object there that he could swing from as well meaning no swinging through wide open fields with nothing to physically swing from.

However as far as fun factor, I'll probably give that to Maximum Carnage on Genesis. That game was just too much fun for no reason.

  1. Spiderman Maximum Carnage (SNES/Genesis) which allowed you to play Venom and had that epic Green Jelly Intro song, lol.
  2. Spiderman on PS1 by Neversoft. Later ported to N64, Dreamcast, GB, and PC. So many cool references and Spidey was well done in 3D!
  3. The Amazing Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin Genesis/Megadrive/SMS. Sega did the Marvel games really well (X-Men, X-Men 2, etc)
  4. Spiderman 2 on PS2/GC/Xbox/PC. Swinging around for the first time in Spidey game history in a sandbox 3D world was RAD!
  5. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions PS360Wii. Four Spidey's from four universes working together (Amazing, 2099, Noir, and Ultimate).
  6. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (PS1/Dreamcast/PS2/Xbox/PS3/360). It's a Capcom fighter, but Spidey is fantastic in it. Included for fun.

I've played many a Spiderman dating back to Atari 2600, but those are the standout moments for me. I also have a Batman and X-Men list as well, lol.

I listed 6 of my favorite Spidey games (although I own more Spidey games), so my advice? Don't count that one game from my list if you don't want to use it for your list. That leaves five other goodies I still posted.

It's my list either way. Spidey is in plenty of fighters, but I threw that 6th Spidey Fighting game (MvC2) in there for fun since I came up with 5 Spidey titles at any rate. Your list is your list and you are free to not include games in your top Spiderman list.

These were all pretty good, can't really pick a favorite.

Maximum Carnage (SNES)
Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin (Genesis)
Spider-Man and Enter Electro (PS1)
Spider-Man 1-2 and Ultimate Spider-Man (PS2)

@Heil68 said:

There have been six Spider-Man games on PS3. :P
(Spider-Man 3, Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, ASM, ASM2)

More if you count stuff like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 or Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

My favorite is the mobile game Ultimate Spiderman Total Mayhem. I never played a fast paced console style action game with a touch screen that plays as well as this one does. My second favorite is the the Sega Spider Man arcade game (another great beat em up game).

Spiderman has always played second fiddle to Batman, both in comic books, TV series / movies and games alike. And I'm extremely generous by saying "second fiddle".

The Amazing Spider-Man that plays similar to the Batman Arkham series. It's the only Spider-Man game I've played and I enjoyed it for the most part.

Spider-Man 2 on the Xbox, (played it on PS2, graphics not as crisp, but still amazing fun), Web of Shadows on consoles (I played the PC version, I only got it to run well last year after upgrading, so you can imagine how bad optimization was when it was first released.)

Also, Ultimate Spider-Man.

And to those saying the Batman games were better, well f**k me, of course they're better. Two of the games are classics and the last game was still a damn fine experience despite its flaws. But this thread never asked for comparisons between the two, so let's just stick to the Spider-Man suggestions all right.
