Which one? And say why. The votes will decide as a fact which one is the best I believe.

PLaystation. Hopefully the Playstation controller will never change, ever. Sony did the right thing by keeping its controller the same for the third straight generation.

Playstation is the one that I'm used to.

This gen is my first Xbox console, and its gonna take some warming up to get me to like that controller more.

The Wii is new, but hard for my set up to control.

The 360 controller is perfect for me.

The feel of it is superb, everything is where it should be, and the weight is neither too heavy, or too light.

gamers grew up with the playstation controler and were wowed by DS2, sixaxis was good but d3 brought every element of a control and brought it into one

old feel, sixaxis, vibrate, no batteries

There are no absolutes when it comes to input devices. The Wiimote + Nunchuk combo is about the best you can get for FPSs and RTSs if you can't use KB+M for whatever reason. Add a MotionPlus attachment, and games that involve swordfighting and other forms of melee combat could be done far better than with any other input method. The Xbox 360 gamepad is a good all-rounder for anything that makes good use of dual analog sticks. It feels very nice to hold, and it's just a pleasure to use. The only problems are that the D-Pad feels like crap (even compared to the older Xbox Controller S), and that there are no PC drivers for the Messenger Kit's chatpad (a platform where it would probably be far more useful than on the X360, if you ask me). The DualShock 3 has a much better D-Pad than the X360 gamepad, but the analog sticks feel awkward to use in comparison. The redesigned L2 and R2 triggers also feel kind of strange. Because of that D-Pad, the DS3 lends itself well to 2D games that control a bit better with a D-Pad rather than an analog stick. Oh, and for certain genres, no dual-analog gamepad will cut it. People say that KB+M dominates all in FPSs are RTSs for a reason. For flight sims, I want nothing less than full-blown Hands-On Throttle And Stick with rudder pedals. For racing sims, only a Logitech G25 will do. A TrackIR 4 Pro also complements both genres and controllers quite nicely.

WiiMote=360>Ds3>SixAxis imo.

But Wii-Mote can be easily the worst, it just depends on how motion sensing is used.

I like it how it is. If they "fixed" it, it would probably be alot like the ps3 controller, and i don't want that. Unless you mean how the buttons respond then i could understand that.

Even though I grew up with the dualshock controller, I must say the 36o controller is most comfortable but it's a bit outdated when it comes down to features the 36o controller lacks compare to the ps3's.

The 360 feels real good when just holding it. But for some reasong during actual gaming, I prefer the PS3.

Don't like the Wii controller or its games.

Yes I own all 3.

But man do they need to fix that D-pad.

Out of those three the 360 gamepad is easily the champion. Out of all those available the Wavebird, Saturn gamepad and the original PS Dualshock reign supreme. If the 360 had a good d-pad and pressure sensitive, more ergonomic face buttons, it would be the greatest gamepad ever made.

It really depends. 360 for all around, although it's weak for fighters. Wiimote is good for FPS, and any game where you take a top down look on things it seems. Works fine for SMG too. I never liked the design of the DS3 (or DS or DS2), although I'm sure it's great for fighters. I don't like the analog placement.

I guess the 360 one out of the consoles.

KB/Mouse is best for everything though IMO. Since i only really play PC games that's all i use.

But, out of the other platforms, definitely 360's gamepad. It feels pretty good for a good amount of genres.

My favorite controller was the PS2 Dualshock 2 controller. I wish Sony could have just made that but wireless for the PS3, but instead they added triggers to it, which on the Dualshock stlye controller, doesn't work well with me. This generation however I like the X360 controller the best, it's the most comfortable and holds the longest charge. The Wii remote is in dead last, it's charge doesn't last very long, it's uncomfortable, especially when you just want to relax, since you have to move it around so much. So for me it goes....

PS2 controller > X360 controller > PS3 controller > Wii remote.

By the way, I own all three consoles.

ElectronicMagic

I disagree about the "Triggers"

It helps with games like Motocross and Burnout Paradise when it comes to using them as gas pedals. I'm sure other games could take advantage of the higher pressure sensitivity it provides.

DS3, its the best all around for all genres. Its a-symetrical just like the human hands. 360 is better for shooters but even then DS3 does pretty well. I also like the depression in the 360 analog sticks but the Dualshocks have always given me good traction that lasts.

I'll never understand the attraction to the PS controllers. They were laughed at when they came out and they have never been comfortable in my opinion. I would even go so far as to say I hate them. But I understand that a lot of you young folks grew up with them and thats what you like. I put my vote in for the 360, although I am trying to get used to the Wii mote.

PS3: Shoulder buttons feel cheap and my fingers slip sometimes; Analog sticks are a bit too close; Not good for shooters; D-Pad are perfect; Fits hand perfectly; Feels a bit cheap because of it's weight.

360: Shoulder buttons are just right; Analog sticks are in the right place; Fits hands perfectly and very comfortable; Decent weight. D-pad needs to be changed.

Wii: Needs more buttons! But other than that, it's ok.

Overall, I like the 360 the most because of those reasons. The PS3 is a very close second.

the ps3 only problem is the triggers just keep the ds2 and it would be perfect and the analog is based off preference.

Don't make it sound like having a 360 makes you mature.

I've been console gaming since the NES, before that I had a Joystick on my Apple II GS.

I still like the DS3 best, if "what I grew up with" is somehow related.

I don't remember mentioning you specifically, but ok. I am not "mature". I post on a gaming forum. But I will say that I have been around long enough to see all of the controllers and I have a strong opinion against the PS one. If that hurts your feelings, sorry.
