I am getting tired of Maple Story. I have enjoyed the whole MMO feel but don't like to pay monthly fees and don't want to spend the money to buy the game either. So two questions what is the best free MMO to download and play? Second question we have heard about consoles and handhelds getting MMO now for years yet they have not came out. Where are they?

I play games to have fun, I could care less if someone takes me seriously. I also own of 30,000 comic books, have watched every Star Trek and have almost every major person from Babylon 5 autograph. So most people don't take me seriously. But I have a hot wife with a big chest so who cares.
I can tell you one thing..
The day you try too play runescape you will wish you where dead.. Thats no nice feeling.
Runescape is the most horrid thing i've ever played. I remember a couple years back some moron in my class gave me his account info to try it, I think his gear was pretty good, but I just threw everything he had onto the ground. :lol:

I actually had a good deal of fun with Shadowbane.
It's almost 100% PVP focused (aside from leveling), but the Clan options and set-ups are extensive (clans can create their own cities), and it has a good interface.
Lunia was pretty fun,the combat was nice. One of my friends gos on about how Hellgate:London is also VERY fun when you get a few hours into it. I have Guild Wars and its fun too...only bad part is finding a someone sociable to do quests with,the community isn't as friendly as WoW. MMOSITE.com and FilePlanet should have so good downloadable ones listed.

guild wars is a good fun MMO game. played it for year and a half.

The community drove me nuts when I played it (I gave up some time before Factions came out although I want to get back into it again). Most players can't follow even the simplest instructions which gets increasingly frustrating when you progress through the game. I remember I was at Thunderhead Keep for what seemed like forever, just waiting until I'd strike lucky and get a good group. :x Fissure of Woe with a bad group...*shudders*
I can tell you of many great free titles, but no MMO's. The only good one is knight online, but blimey, good luck getting into a server if you're not a subscriber (it works sometimes, sometimes it dosen't, the payers get reserved slots).

Ive tried maple story, rappelz etc and theyre all pathetic vs Everquest and WoW, hell even the PS2 console everquest with its absurd loading times beats any of those free games by a landslide.

That what my friends tell me in so many words.I hate the idea of paying for a MMO, paying for gamefly and paying for Live. But then again when playing Maplestory I spent about that much money on extras each month.

Most free MMOs are pretty boring, try Gunz or download Americas Army which got AA here :D

Which of the two would you say are better?
I found Gunz easier to get into and more fun because of the mixture of weapons and swords. The matrix style moves were also cool (wall running and flips) but the graphics are pretty awful and it can get boring real quick.
Americas Army is very realistic and a lot more challenging, as its more tactical and has more maps ( I think). Its govt. propaganda because of the training methods.
Depends what kind of player you are really but Id say AA is a safer bet
Guild Wars. It may not be technically free but if you just want to avoid paying monthly subscription rates than this is easily above and beyond most other MMO's
But really MMO's are bad enough, but when you start to play free MMO's you are just scraping the bottom of an already disgusting, cess filled barrel.
Dungeon Runners is free. It's like Diablo except it's WASD controlled. The base game is free but you can pay $5 a month to unlock subsripction content.
