Bayonetta, TLoU and MCC... Which is the better Port?

3 ports, 2 heralded as the bread and butter of their Genre (TLOU & Bayonetta) while Halo was never to good to begin with.

Out of the 3 which was the better port? Which had the least amount of problems and which runs the best overall. I only own Bayonetta and yet to play it but if it is anything like the PS3 version it will be unplayable. Halo seems to have more bugs that a Bug Collector and i havemt heard of any problems with the last of us.

I played through Bayonetta on Wii U. No problems at all. So it's a good port I guess.

But MCC, I don't see how you can beat it. It's a complete overhaul.

Bayonetta runs flawlessly (though my Wii U was screaming in pain while running it), adds content that isn't avalible in other versions, and is basically free with Bayo 2.

I would call that a TKO.

MCC has the most content and work put into it.

TLOUR run like charm and with no problems what so ever with upgraded graphics and 60 fps

just like the original it deserve it 95% metascore

didn't play Bayonetta 2 but i heard nothing but praise about it preformance so it deserve it 91% metascore

I say they're all great ports. Just Master Chef Collection fails to meet expectations.

It's really tough. But probably TLOU. I've yet to play Bayo 1 on Wii U but apparently it's good. TMCC however has given me so many headaches. Crashed games, deleted checkpoints, long matchmaking times, terrible lag today. Shame cause otherwise it's a great package. TLOU on the other hand, completely smooth and looks better than the previous version.

MCC is not a port, its a remake.

Not a enhanced port like HD collections and whatever, it a game build from the ground up again.

@Nengo_Flow: H:CE is a port of the 360 Anniversary Edition, H2 is a remake. H3 and H4 are ports with bumped up resolution and frame rate. The only remake here is H2 and even so it's not very impressive visually.

@Nengo_Flow: It is a port. REsident Evil on the GC is the better definition of a remake.

I didn't play Bayonetta 1, but the MCC is awesome for those that love the lore and campaigns. The MP has been playable for me in NYC since Friday night, but for many not. TLOU I still have along with DLC on my PS3 so I saw no reason to buy it a year later. Its up to you. I am a Halo fanboy so I admit my opinion will never be objective and I paid nothing for the collection.

yeah my bad, its just that everytime i think of MCC i just think its just Halo 2 cuz Halo2 its all they are talking about an showing.

If Halo MCC worked it's far and away the greatest compilation of older games I've seen.

Bayonetta wins. Its the definitive version of the game, and includes bonuses.

Don't know but I will say that so far Bayonetta 1 has been ported well.

I'm sure the MCC and TLOU PS4 were ported well too but I haven't played them yet.

My Bayonetta port came with a Bayonetta 2 disk...so that alone makes it the best port ever made :P

Haven't played TLOU or MCC, but the Halo MCC is a great value of several great games while TLOU is just one game and Bayonetta is awesome but I don't feel anything was done to enhance the game.

@Nengo_Flow: Yeah, I get it haha. It is the highlight of the package and the focus on multiplayer. Especially right now that they stripped down the matchmaking to only a few playlists. So its an understandable mistake.

• Bayo: heard good things, but it obviously isn't a great graphical leap. But added contents seem nice.
• TLOU: haven't played the game, and considering my experience with their previous game, I am very skeptical. But the graphic looks nice I guess
• MCC: MP-aside, it has Halo 2 campaign without any redesigning, which means it fails. CEA and Halo 3 are nice I guess, but missing Reach and ODST.

TLOU runs the best out of all the remasters. It's crazy to me that old Halo games run so poorly on the Xbox One. There are dropped frames everywhere. Bayonetta is a pretty good port but TLOU is so much improved on the PS4. So my vote goes there.

TLOU is most stable performing - is that what I'm supposed to be judging?

I have only played TLOU remastered, and the lastgen version. But the difference in them was night and day, 60 FPS just feels right in the last of us. Its almost like playing a whole new game, that especially holds true in the multiplayer portion of the game. Its not really worth it if you have already played the game on your PS3, but the PS4 version of the game is the whole package, and its the best version of an already great game.

@darkspineslayer: the disc drive certainly goes a bit mad when playing bayonetta. its odd since bayonetta 2 runs better, looks better and the disc drive is nowhere near as busy. i can only guess that bayonetta 1 on the wiiu is still optimised for a 12X dvd drive and running on less than 512MB of ram (i.e. still a lot of 360 code in there) so the way it manages data is still tweaked mostly for the 360.

its a good port though in that it matches the 360 version more or less. it would have been all too easy to dump the 360 code on it, get it basically functioning and just leaving it at that which would have made it a lot more like the PS3 version. a lot fo care went into making sure the wiiu version of B1 was up to standard (and with nintendo publishing it chances are anything less than that wouldnt have gotten past certification).

its a shame they didnt backport some of the B2 enhancements to the first game though.

in terms of the quality of the port TLOU probably takes the biscuit.

Look I get that fan boys love Halo and were waiting for the collection...but come one....great port? No.

The Last of Us.

It increased the resolution from 720p to 1080p, and teh frame rate from 30fps to 60fps

Bayonetta on the Wii U is basically teh same has the 360.

MCC is plagued with issues. Obviously, a MUCH bigger task, but still.

And believe me, TLOU is the last of those i'd want to play.

Bayonetta is pretty much the same, except for costumes that are also in Bayonetta 2.
TLOU is a solid enhanced port that comes with all the DLC.
MCC is packed with content, including a game that has been totally redone. But it also suffers from bugs and poor netcode.

From my understanding the Master Chief Collection was poorly done. How is choppy coop acceptable? This is/was a HUGE part of the game. I'm told the framerate is never stable even in campaign.

Not really. It basically performs the same as the 360 game. The other games at least bump up the resolution. suitably for this gen. Halo is a complete reworking of 4 games, and multiplayer. Even if it's launch is broken it still wins.

MCC pretty easily. MP issues aside its an incredible package and Halo 2 is still better than any console multiplayer game.

TLOU is the best game among them, so TLOU.
