The issue is that animals cannot consent, so when you think about it, a druid in bear form CAN consent so really it's OK in this scenario for two reasons: 1.) it's not really a bear, and 2. the bear can actually consent.

*With that said, it can be a joke but also serious. A big part of Dungeons and Dragons is *gasp* roleplaying. While it might seem kind of cringe, especially in a real-life session of DnD, to have sex with a fellow party member (God forbid I allow this to happen in my D&D sessions I host), it's still something that can happen, and as a result it's good to include it in a video game adaptation.

All this is, is a choice. If you have a problem with the choice, then you truly are a fascist. No one is forcing you to have sex with a bear consenting druid in bear form, it's you folks that want to force people into not having a choice.

Its a smart option. Larian studio is very similar to the OG Bioware. If they had a big budget, its guaranteed that they'd be able to make the likes of Mass Effect (quality writing, world design and lore). You acquire them to develop a new IP that isn't too MTX heavy. When it launches, is a massive success, and a ton of gamers get attached to it, with the sequel, you introduce mtx, and burn everyone into the ground. You squeeze them as much as possible, and when nobody cares about their games anymore BECAUSE YOU FORCED THEM TO CREATE GAMES THEY DON'T WANT TO MAKE, you shut their studo, and call it a day.

That bear is from what I can gather, a druid. Using Wild Shape.

If anything, this indicates at least one of the writers in Larian has played the actual tabletop game. Hell, this is on the tame side of things. In one campaign I rolled a 1, which resulted in a string of events that resulted in my character developing scuirophobia.

What's a druid?

Never played any D&D stuff. I don't "get" the whole druid bear thing.

@Jag85: Druids are a class. Basically a Nature Priest. And protector of a very delicate balance. They can heal, but usually aren't as good at it as clerics (lacking resurrection spells for one), they have a serviceable selection of offensive spells (better than cleric but not as good as a wizard), and they can also fight reasonably well in melee combat, by transforming into animals via wild shape.

Wild Shape allows them to temporarily transform into ANY animal they have seen, provided their Level meets the CR requirement. While in this form, they maintain who they are as a person. Their mental stats (Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma), personality, and so on. Bear is one of the more popular transformations.

The bear you saw in the video was likely Halsin, would be pretty in character for him.

It's definitely Halsin. They showed most of the sequence during the PFH, with the the player (controlling Astarion) and Halsin meeting up for a tryst, Halsin accidentally shapeshifting, and the player (guided by the audience) encouraging him to stay that way. It's mostly played for laughs, complete with a reaction shot from a shocked squirrel.
