Advance Wars 1+2 Thread- Gamespot 7

TSHBO. Major flop since it was hyped as an 8-9.

I'll have to pick it up at some point. Just not for the scam Nintendo price of $70

Might I remind people how to do an actual sequel to old pixel art games? (See video above)

Art style of Advance Wars Reboot looks kinda generic and it's on Unity, bottom-tier engine.

It's a shame it's not getting the treatment it deserves because in essence it's a fun game.

Gonna pick up a couple copies today. this badboy gonna be worth a fortune. We gone be rich!!!

Played it a bit now. It came out earlier here in europe.

But the game is really solid. The QoL is excellent for sure. But there are a few gripes I have here and there. Overall, I feel this is so far an 8/10.

@Mercenary848: I would like them to revive Battalion Wars, or port the originals to newer hardware.

This game was worth money. Been playing it for around 6 hours today. Good game.

They say a lot of "For Now"... are they implying future support? That would be cool. I wanna see them add the COs from Super Famicom Wars and Dual Strike. Save for the Yellow Comet CO in Super Famicom Wars. Can't blame them if they don't wanna add him in.

One of my favorite changes to this remake is that Fog of War actually affects the AI. Just like it does in Super Famicom Wars and when playing against a human opponent.

It is so satisfying when your units ambush the enemy.

Edit: The more I play this game the more I like it. At first I was kinda bored with all the tutorials and linear missions. But the more I play, the greater my opportunities for player expression are. Which makes the game a whole lot more fun.

This is the complete opposite of ***** ****, which left a strong first impression but became a complete bore shortly after I beat the Grafter boss.

My top 3 games for this year are

Pizza Tower > Advance Wars: Reboot Camp > Fire Emblem Engage

I just found out Arin Hanson is part of the voice cast. Yikes!

Double yikes! Nintendo isn't giving Japan a chance with this game, despite Advance Wars coming from there and being a Famicom game first.

I played the originals and liked them but for me this just isn’t worth the price. Maybe at $30 but lord knows when that will happen with how long it takes for Nintendo Switch games to go on sale.
