Activision Blizzard games to come to GamePass in 2024!

Activision Blizzard has confirmed that it could start bringing its titles to Game Pass in 2024.

Almost two years after the deal was first announced, Microsoft reportedly expects to close its $69 billion acquisition of the Call of Duty and World of Warcraftpublisher next week.

While Microsoft has said it plans to “offer as many Activision Blizzard games as we can within Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, both new titles and games from Activision Blizzard’s incredible catalog”, this won’t happen straight away.

Activision Blizzard addressed the timeline for bringing its titles to Game Pass in a statement released on Monday.

“As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass,” it said.

“While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world.

“And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.”

Yes please! Been holding out for a bunch of their games to hit the service. Diablo IV being one of my top ones.

I hope not. MS needs to make that $$ back. Screw market share. Get that $$$ first MS, we need to make that money. Once the ROI is good, we can bring out day 1 gamepass. I say that is 10 years away. Milk the cows as much as possible in the meantime.

I can see MS pushing for another price increase with Game Pass now adding Activision & Blizzard games which is fair I guess if it comes to that. Even on Game Pass PC, that's a lot of games your gonna get and adding Call of Duty games will be a bonus for sure as you can play the campaign and assuming you don't care for MP, your paying less/renting just for the campaign if that's the case.

All I really want from Activision is to reinstate all the Transformers games and put them on Game Pass.

This is actually sooo fucking stupid to hear right now. They can have that stuff added to the Game Pass catalog ASAP, they're clearly choosing not to. All the games available on the Xbox Store are 100% ready to transition to Game Pass.

This coming from the ABK side of things makes me wonder if someone is trying to spike the deal last minute.

Unless this is somehow prompted by regulatory obstacles, but they'd say so if that was the case. It'd be better to make some lame excuse their online infrastructure isn't ready for rhe avalanche of activity expected when the games come to Game Pass is forcing the delay, lame too but more plausible than whatever non-excuse their floating.

Countdown for the start of Sony becoming a full time 3rd party developer starts in 2024. Soon even Sony games will be coming to GamePass.

Don't pay to rent games, and don't buy Craptivision games, so this is a whole lot of meh for me.

We, Sony fans, we welcome you. The day you try GT7, is the day you will giggle every time someone mentions Forza.

Sometimes something seemingly small ends up being a big deal. The Unity licensing change created such a backlash they instantly reversed course despite that I read today the guy in charge of that stepped down, but that might never undo the damage done causing developers to abandon use of the license, or switching engines on existing Unity games to prevent another retroactive bait and switch on licensing arrangements.

I've no doubt if the ABK deal got inked but MS waited until after holidays to capitalize on sales before offering the content to Game Pass, there'd be a a huge backlash of existing Game Pass users, and Microsoft would be putting out fires for months. Not to mention regardless they'd be missing out on crucial capitalization of the acquisition leading into the holidays. This essentially means there'd be no effective uptick in moving hardware until late next year, and honestly this is concerning considering MS needs the momentum to carry them to their next big signature first party release.

Don't know about you but GT franchise is just not as fun as it used to be. I'll stick to Forza since those games come to PC in the long run.

Will be incredible if Xbox able to intergrate WoW subscription into Gamepass. Still not gonna sub though I think I am just cozy with steam sales I prefer just paying devs.

I don’t care for game pass as I rather own my games but I’m more looking forward to them bringing over the rest of the titles from Battle.net over to Steam.

Also, isn’t it inevitable that Game Pass is going to get a price increase sooner or later? It’s been mentioned in the past. I know certain cows are going to post threads when it happens like as if they’re fvcking shocked lmao. TC you definitely being one of them; calling this shit now 😂

I also don't care for GP, I hope they raise the price enormously, it would be nice seeing the GP supporters having a whinge about it. The only downside is the cows will be carrying on about it for a month.

GamePass is fantastic so this is great news.

Hopefully D2R will be on GP as well lol. I already bought D2 6-7 times.

Plus I get my annual fix on COD games.

I stopped using GP when it started to cost more than $1/month. Also have no interest in Blizzard's shitty games.

Not a huge cod fan but definitely will play the campaigns if they come to gamepass.

You might pretend to laugh now, but in a year from now, when the only system in your household is a PS5, you will think very differently.

Imagine getting a PS5, with no exclusives under its belt outside of FF16, and a future of nothing but Live Service games.
