Apparently everyone is out there to push 60FPS. That's nice. Should look and run great. I'm just wondering when/if developers are gonna stop going for that and lower the fps to 30 in order to make their games prettier. When do you think? Or is this gonna be the standard for some developers?
Mid life cycle of the next gen i suspect. Once they start wanting to push more compute stuff out as apposed to performance, when the next gen graphics start too look a little dated. Many many years yet though. 60FPS is good, very good in fact. Makes a massive difference to competitive play (coming from BF3 on PC to BF3 on PS3, FPS was the biggest difference over all)
while i dont think it'll be the majority, it's nice to see how many people are going with it. halo in 60fps will be great, although I'm tired of the series.
So far it's easy for console devs, since they don't know where to use the extra power of the new consoles, but we all know that, later in the gen, devs will put visuals over performance.
I hope 60fps remains standard for shooters, action games, racers, etc, though.
Thank god developers are pushing for a 60FPS standard in games. I find myself having trouble playing most console games because I'm so used to playing games at 60FPS on my PC.Â
I don't really care so long as everything is native 1080p. 60 fps is obviously nice, 30 fps works great for most games so long as it's 100% stable and a perfect 30 fps. The problem with this gen is alot of games werent' even 30fps, or struggled mightily to achieve 30fps.
What I find hilarious is all the hypocracy form the consolites.

6 months ago the console gamers were starting threads about how 60 FPs doesn't matter, and the human eye can only see 30 FPS. And that 720p was "good enough".

Mario Kart wii u looks pretty, runs at 60fps and 1080p with splitscreen. So if the wii u can do it, im sure the xbox1 and ps4 will have no problems whatsoever
I'd say 60 fps for all but RPG's or games where fast, tight action response isn't required so better to use 30 fps for those and beef up the other aspects of visuals.
Most shouldn't stop when they realize the interactive advantages it offers more gameplay-centric games. I can see MP sections remaining up there. However, they should have realized this last gen, and at this point, given my most-loved games of last gen, I probably should have gone PC-Wii.
