So, you know, sometimes, people play games a lot. Like, so much that they end up clocking in an obscene amount of time into their games. There are a lot of games that can lead to such absurdly high play times- games like Skyrim, or Dark Souls, MMOs like World of Warcraft, games like Pokemon or Fire Emblem, MOBAs like DOTA 2 or League of Legends... a lot of them, you know?

So, I made this thread because today, I ended up crossing the 200 hour mark for Persona 4 Golden. Since starting it on October 22, 2013, I have now clocked in 200 hours of play time into the game- notably, this is the time I have spent actually playing the main RPG mode. Time spent in the menus, or in the TV programs, or any of that, none of that is counted (so my total power time for the game is probably closer to 230 hours than 200 hours).

This is also the first game since Pokemon Diamond and Pearl back in 2007 where I have managed to get this much time in.

So, my question to you: have you managed to clock in at least 200 hours into a game recently? And if so, which one?

Not in a very long time. The most recent games that I'd have spent anywhere near that amount of time playing are Halo 3 and Oblivion both of which are over half a decade old now.

It would be better to clock my WoW time in days instead of hours.

It has been several years that I have played a game for more than 200 hours. I forgot what that game is.

Recent games that have time counters

L4D2--385h, played a lot with friends in college

GW2-- pretty sure at least 200, but I haven't played in a while

BF3--350+h

CSGO--currently 150+h so expect that to go beyond 200h

Probably back in the day games like Pokemon red and gold I hit 200.

Oh as for P4G, I'm closing in on 50h

Yeah well over in WoW, Guild Wars 2, pretty sure I've spent more than 200 hours in the Half Life universe as well, Smash Brothers Melee. Probably a heap of other games but I can't remember them all.

Xenoblade Chronicles is the only game other than Morrowind that I've logged 200+ on. I've done 100+ on a few like Monster Hunter Tri and Mario Kart Wii.

Let's see here...

Team Fortress 2 - 220 hours

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 276 hours

Pokemon Black - 203 hours

...That's all I got from what I can recall.

Gotta love the 1 click delete (meant to edit)

MGS: PeaceWalker, probably Guild Wars 2, and technically The Sims 3, though a lot of that is idle time as I've accidentally left it running all day several times. Plan on getting there soon with Crysis 2.

And to think i was that guy.

"Mobas are shitty watered-down RTS, i don't see why anybody would play them, yadda yadda."

There's so much variety packed into this game, it just never gets stale.

And it relies solely on its core gameplay to keep you coming back.

Core gameplay that promotes creativity instead of playing by the book.

Pretty much every rpg i play gets me over 100h. games like gw1 and gw2 got me thousands of hours wasted lol but only these two. I'm surprised i can't even get to dat 100h mark on DA:I, feels like an mmo without the fun co-op of some mmo's have.

Off topic:

So I finally caved in and picked up a VITA and this game....

AND I REGRET NOTHING D:

This takes me back to the GOLDEN age of JRPGs and reminded me how much I have missed a damn good one (this being one of the very best I have had the pleasure of playing, #TeamChie). I can't wait for PE5!

Back on topic:

Skyrim, DOTA 2 comes to mind when it comes to games that I have been recently playing over 200 hours.

Red Dead Redemption... 100% 7 times. I need 15 hours to do it now. Makes it 105 hours plus some free roam plus multiplayer plus Undead Nightmare 100% 3 times makes it easily over 200 hours. I am 123 hours in on Halo THE MCC aswell.

Only football manager games I have clocked over 200 hours

Football manager 2012 400 hours

Football manager 2013 1004 hours

Football manager 2014. 714 hours

Next closest is my original final fantasy save on ps1, the game time was at 99 hours and stoped counting so it may have been 200.

Oh, don't have a time tracker for this game so not sure but FSX is likely over 200 hours.

Of the games I play regularly; my current play time for Arma III is 1039 hours, I spend as much time in the editor as I do playing though. According to Steam the most time I spent in Arma 2 is 362 hours and 422 hours in Arma 2: OA (784 total), also 401 hours in DayZ Standalone.

Even though I havent played them for years, I have likely racked up the most time in EQ1 and Q3A but there is no way of telling how much.

Fire Emblem: Awakening - 300 hours

Civ 5 - 300 hours

Warframe - 1400 hours

League of Legends and Dota 2 - 200 hours

I know I have well over that for BF2, BF3, Diablo 3 and CS:S. WoW probably clocks in at 300 days or so but it's been almost 10 years since I've started playing. I think I'm pretty close with that with Starcraft 2 and Payday 2.

Last one was Fallout 3. I still play games that I went over the threshold on many years ago though like AOE2. I dread to think what my hours would be on that, I'm glad they weren't logged when I was young. ;)

I don't know if I've ever crossed the 200 hour mark, but the two that have come the closest would be KOTOR and Mass Effect 1, where I've played each through, including side missions (not just straight runs) several times. I also clocked over a hundred fifty hours with fallout 3.

My attention span for games tends to be shorter lived after beating it. I tend to want to be immediately buried in the next game when the credits roll... And even the allure of being a completionist gives way to the idea of playing something new...

My one character in Oblivion has 200 hrs. I liked Skyrim but the world was lacking something compared to Oblivion.

I could probably fire it up now and spend a few more hours.

Almost shat myself when I saw 260h in DiabloIII. Especially considering I'm only ONE developed build in so far.

And this is just on PC. Also have a half finished Barb on PS3.

There are games that I've gone through so many times I couldn't even calculate the amount of time. It could be way less, or more than I think. It is those older games I wonder about when something like this is mentioned. Street Fighter Turbo? Mario 64? Mario Bros? Ninja Gaiden? Starfox? Games that I occasionally pick up from time to time, to this day. Games that let get you in a "zone" where you don't even think about what is happening on screen--you've mastered them to that point.

If I had to guess though I think the game I own with the most hours logged in would likely be Goldeneye.

I'm currently doing the secret dungeon (Feb 13, first playthrough).

My first playthrough was at on my own pace, just taking in and enjoying the game fully.

Second will most likely be a trophy/completionist run!

I'm around 1700 hours in Dota 2
Football Manager franchise is at 500ish
130 hours in The World Ends With You
100ish in SMT: Nocturne (two playthroughs + everything done)
Pokémon Silver as a kid I had a lot in it too
