I hate to say it, but, it looks like it'll be a long while before we get to play these game, let alone see more in-game footage anytime soon... http://ps3.ign.com/articles/805/805646p1.html
So 13% and 1,3% for FF 13???
Guess they are maybe just manipulating the numbers a tiny bit?
plg2307
Yeah, they really need to stop.
bud of mine who works at SE (I aint kidding) has stated its a pretty low stress job and they are pretty laid back...Cronaroth
Wow...that's pretty nice.:)

Sorry to be dumb, but what is Versus XIII and how is it different to FF XIIIJKoBnZ
Heh, don't sweat it. You're not the first to ask that. Versus XIII is an action-rpg that borrows the same crystal mythology as FF XIII. Besides that, they arent related in anyway. Versus XIII centers around someone who is a protector of the crystals, in a somewhat modern setting, where there is a war going on for control of the crystals.
dont worry ppl have faith in squenix all great games take time :)Cloud310
I'll put my faith in Mistwalker for that:)
I wonder if they will port Versus XIII to the 360.
dont worry ppl have faith in squenix all great games take time :)Cloud310
Agreed. FF12 took them like 4 years and ended up being a great game. I really wish that Square could put the same effort on its other franchises

Same here.
That really doesn't surprise me. Remember how long XII took? I remember waiting a very very long time for that game. And I am sure that XIII/vsXIII is going to take even longer.queen_valentine
They said they are 13% done, so expect this game out close to 09.

Yeah...That's true. I just hope it's more than worth the wait. And, yeah, I'd really love to see them give there other series' some more attention.I know FF is a great, money making, saftey net. But,maybe if The Last Remnant is a huge success, they'll notice that they dont have to bank on mainly FF anymore.

You have to remember it is SE, so it'll be later more than earlier.

I don't really care about FFXIII because I'll probably never buy a PS3.

I will, just not very soon.
Like Crono said, I'm not that worried because by the time they are released, I may not even have a PS3 yet. I'm looking forward for some more info on XIII though. But until these games are released, there are just so many more games to enjoy, so I'm not worried at all! *Looks at the long backlog of rpgs to play* *faints* XD

Yeah like Lost odyssey, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, and Eternal Sonata:D
good to know that they're puttins just as much time and effort into 13's as they did in 12Rizhall456
I hope it isn't as long as XII, but it should be long.

You thought XII was too long? I am not done with the game, but I am at about 90+ hours...I think that's kinda cool, I dunno, makes me a little proud of all my efforts. :)

But anyway, FFXII isn't too long, like I always say "It's a very complete game" :)

LOL ive given up on caring-by the end of August I should have all of the next gen consoles
Not to worry children, I'm sure there's OTHER games to make our amusement while we all patiently wait ^.^
Although in my opinion, just because of those figures doesn't mean it might not make a 2008 release. Who knows what reasons they are for those numbers right now. I know for one they'd probably been spending a lot of time working on the White Engine, then probably the whole setting and story even way before starting the development of the game, so I reckon the numbers will drastically increase now, at least for FFXIII :P
Don't worry all, I wouldn't go thinking we won't get these until 2010, once they pick up and start making the game, which they have for FFXIII at least, we'll get these much quicker than we think now ;)
I'm thinking for one FFXIII will be out much earlier than Versus XIII, give it a year and we'll see :)

That's true. I just wish SE would release some new stuff! All the "new" screens we've seen are just from the trailer that we all saw a while ago.
I think I'm excited for the SE PS3 games in this order: Last Remnant, Versus and then XIII.

...That's true. Not to mention the loads of attention SE has given portables this year. I read a while back that they wanted to focus on handhelds until the next-gen consoles are more profitable. I guess I just didnt expect the numbers to be so low.

Yeah same here, Last Remnant has me totally spun over the Final Fantasy games, plus now more games are finally starting to shine out so we won't be focusing on Final Fantasy as much now. Probably best for us, showing those statistics. :D

Kenshin18
Exactly. For the last few years SE has really expanded itself over onto other systems and particulary handhelds. Before in the days they only had the SNES then the PS1 systems to work on itself, now they're expanded for more audience, and let's not think it isn't for profit as well especially with all these remakes :P SE has turned into a money wagon, which is why many of us loyal fans have started going over to Mistwalker, since lack of quality and originality are transpiring within SE these days.

Uematsu mentioned the same thing (damn, I wish I could remember where these interviews were to link them..I should've joined this place earlier). He said something along the lines of the days were SE was more about bringing great games based off of the creative ideas/dreams of smaller development teams are long gone, and now they are more about just dishing out content to make money so long as the idea is a safe bet to make money(he even stated he refused an offer to make music for an unnamed action game a couple of years ago because it just looked like a money making game with no real meaning behind it). http://the-magicbox.com/game20070716.shtml - this place says Amano also prefers Mistwalker. But, dont get me wrong, despite SE being more concerned with money now, and the loads of remakes, I'm still a fan of most ofKitase and Normura's work. I guess that keeps my faith in them.I hope The Last Remnant is a sign of new teams with new, creativeideas becoming more mainstream for them soon.

Let's just hope that's a fad...I mean, I know those two are their best sellers, but, still...if they could let Musashi get another go on the PS2, why not let The Last Remnant be another pillar if it sells well. I kinda miss when Square was known for more than just Final Fantasy.
