Chrono Trigger should be remade...

I just learned about 2 weeks ago that Chrono Trigger... or should I say, THE great Chrono Trigger, was not made available in Europe up to this very moment. Is it ture? Even the full of slow-downs port in the PS1?!?!?

What's with Square Enix? SE fans deserve to play each and every masterpice they own.

Although I love CT in its original form, I think having it remade will be more appreciated by the younger RPGamers that have emerged now.

What do you think? Should CT be remade or just port it as is?

I don't think they will do a remake. Square has been getting bashed for all their remakes of old games and not focusing more on original games. It looks like FFIV for DS could be the last Square-Enix remakes for a while.

For me, i'm not really particular with converting it into 3d. Even if they just redraw and recolor the graphics just like what they did with FF1 and 2 in the PSP... It would make CT very beautiful for the next-gen consoles.

heh~ If they're gonna invest in remaking CT, they better make it good! I would love to see it in full-blown 3D! I won't settle for anything less than that. CT DESERVES to be remade, and remade WELL.

FFVI was just remade for the GBA just last year, i don't think they''ll start a project for it soon.

it should be remade. living in australia, i never got to play it and i'd really love to. and in all honesty i'd rather play it as a remake (on the PS3 for example) then a port.

i would rather play a remake too, although if they bodged it i wouldnt know what it was like originally. still they seem to do their remakes pretty well

If we have to follow what he has said, I think a CT remake is almost impossible to make 'coz, iirc, the "dream team" who made CT are no longer (at least, the majority) with SE.

i think that the best option that will become available is having it put on the Playstation Store and allow people to download the original from there and play it on either the PS3 or PSP.Sony_FanBoy

I think this would also be the best option. Although CT is considered to be one of the legends and all-time classics, I dont think a remake would do. It would take an immense amount of work, and SE right now is too busy with other projects (say the FF XIII's and [hopefully] the remake of 7). Puting CT at the Playstation Store would be a [lowly] compromise by letting the people who do not have a SNES or PS1 get this wonder of a game. Sure it wouldnt have the flashy visuals that would appeal to the ideal younger gamer, but a game doesnt need to have great visuals for it to be great.
