Sort of like this NC state game i was at where some guy was wearing a UNC shirt when the Tarheels not only wern't playing NC state that day the lost to Maryland that same day. So i almost wounder if he was an NC state fan wearing it as Irony.

Never cried, just choked up  Moments like John Elway winning the Super Bowl, Ray Bourque getting his Stanley Cup. Red Sox miracle comebacks to break the curse etc.

I forgot about it until I saw that Visa commercial for the Olympics this year, but Derek Redmond made me cry. Not live because I was four, but seriously watch this and tell me you don't feel for the guy.blackngold29

I've never seen the whole video and had to hold back tears just now...

When gymnast Kerri Strugg broke her ankle and still helped the US win the team Gold Medal in the 1996 Olympics.

JUST KIDDING!!!

There's NO crying in Sports unless you're playing. Ok well maybe if you're that much of a devoted fan then I guess. But you'd better be a die hard fan and not a bandwagoneer!

Probably most of these people crying over sports are all bandwagons. Things just got a little sadder. BANDWAGONS = NO LOYALTY.

You take a guess and immediately after it you annoint it a fact. Nice.

Well a guess that people who are crying over sports are bandwagons is a guess not a fact but that has nothing to do with the fact that if you are a bandwagon fan, then you have no loyalty. You cant have loyalty if you jump ships every year. Facts are facts and guesses are guesses. Am I right or wrong?

I thought when you wrote "things just got a little sadder", you meant your first statement is a fact. If that's not what it meant, my bad.

See I never really looked at his Bio and always heard the annoucers refer to him as the Algerian so I always figured he was algerian. Then I have no problem with Zidane. I hate cause his parents are from another country they refer to them as from there also. You are from where you are born. See my family is mostly from italy but I was born in Argentina and consider myself Argentine and I cheer for Argentina over Italy any day. I cheer for Italy only when they are not playing Argentina.

Dude, so what if his parents are Algerian? I mean, thanks to France, the world of football had a privilege to watch one of the best players ever, if not the best football player ever.

No I dont have a problem with his parent being from Algeria. But the announcers are the ones who refer to him as the Algerian. My problem when I see players who were born in different countries playing for a different national team. I think that is wrong and should not be allowed. I hate Cameronesi on Italy because he was born in Argentina but he plays for Italy. I believe Portugal has a few Brasilians born players too. It just takes away from the national competetion.

Zidane is one of the greats but I still hold Maradona higher. You could say Im bias but he took Napoli to european glory which is a second rate club. Pele is the greatest striker ever followed by Ronaldo(people hate on him but the man knows how to score).

Oh, rite, guess I missunderstood. My apologies :)

Zinedine was born in Marseilles, so he actually is French.

Maradona may be the greatest one, but I despise him 'cause of his drug addiction and cocky character. Zidane is a school example how a world-class footballer should be; calm, like a real gentleman, except of course a few moments of madness, including the headbutt.

And I don't hate Ronaldo. He's also one of the best footballers ever to grace a football field. I was really sad when he injured his knee, and especially sad when he injured his other knee.

Never cried, but come close.

  • Oregon State won baseball national championship (Both times.)
  • Oregon State beats Oregon in the Civil War in 2007 (Football)
  • Oregon State beat #2 USC (2006)
  • Oregon State whooped Notre Dame in Fiesta Bowl! 2001 I think.
  • Seahawks lost in the Super Bowl.
  • My first Oregon State football game.
  • My first Seahawks game at Qwest Field.

That's all I can think of...

I think if you're a citizen of a certain country, you should be allowed to play for that team in the world cup. What if a great player comes from a country that doesn't compete in the world cup? This player has played his entire career in...let's say the Spanish league and is a citizen of Spain. Now just b/c he happened to be born in a country that's not good at soccer means he should never be allowed to experience the world cup? That's not fair.

Then the whole meaning of country vs country is pointless. I guess they could make an exception for countries that dont participate but for brasilians or Argentines to go to other countries to play in the world cup should not be allowed.
