madden: is beckham jr. really as good as julio jones?

just saw the top 5 receivers in the next game.

antonio brown - 97

dez bryant - 96

megatron - 95

julio jones - 94

odell beckham jr. - 94

i mean i'm not a hater but there is no way beckham jr. deserves that rating. unless madden added "media coverage" to player attributes in which he'd be rated 99. or maybe julio jones is just underrated irl and in madden... i dunno, just how i feel and wonder if anyone else agrees after watching both players last season

The real question should be why is Dez above Calvin.

If OBJ didn't make that catch last year he would be in the mid 80's in Madden and most people wouldn't know who he is.

Odell had an amazing season(12 games) even without the catch. Look at his stats and then remember he missed camp and the first 4 games. They were pretty amazing.

If you disagree with the rating also look at every fantasy football experts WR ranks. Odell is number 1 on many, not that fantasy means much though.

Also I would put Dez ahead of Calvin now mostly due to calvin being injured all the time.

The overall doesn't take into account the height. Their skillset could be argued to be equivalent. But Julio being much taller than OBJ automatically puts him at an advantage. You gotta use these overalls in their proper context.

@makdaknife: Ok hold up. I have lots of issues with this list.

1) Megatron at a 95. I know he has been hurt a bit due to injury but he is a better receiver than Brown and Dez.

2) Dez and Brown should be rated about the same. Dez is a bit stronger of a receiver and can make more impressive catches but Brown has the speed and quickness.

3) Beckham Jr IS NOT as good as Juilo Jones. Both have been injury about an entire season each but Jones has at least proven he is a top receiver. OBJ has just had one good season so far.

4) Where is DeMarious Thomas from Denver he had a great season last year I checked.

Sorry for the rant but these are things that just need correcting.

I think Odell and Julio are about neck and neck.

Beckham has more yards per game while Jones has more receptions.

The biggest thing is that Beckham doubled Julio's touchdown numbers playing in 3 fewer games, if anything Odell should be ahead of Jones.

I wanna see if Beckham can even come close to equaling his rookie campaign now that defenses will really be focused on him.

Except that's not how these ratings work.

They're based on their most recent season at the start and then they're tweaked depending on how the player performs each week.

A lot of people think these are lifetime achievement awards
