Trump says he will negotiate third term because he's entitled to it.

During a rally in Minden, Nevada, Trump predicted he would win reelection and carry Nevada, a state he lost narrowly in 2016.

“After that,” Trump said, “we’ll negotiate,” asserting that he’s “probably entitled to another four after that” based on “the way we were treated.”

The comments echo ones Trump made during a rally in Wisconsin in August, in which he stated he would win four more years and “go for another four years” because “they spied on my campaign,” likely referencing his unproven “Obamagate” theory.

I fully believe that he intends to do this. Every time Trump says something that's "not really supposed to be believed" or "could never really happen" he ends up sincerely trying to do it and his supporters change their tune to, "Trump is right to do it."

Thoughts? Any Trumpers want to skip the "its a joke brah" portion of this cycle and jump to the "Trump is totally correct" phase?

He’s legally not allowed to so I’m completely fine with it if he decides no other republicans are allowed to run against him if he wins 4 more and he personally decides to go for another 4 illegally. It only means Democrats would be running unopposed, and trump would be removed from office via the 22nd amendment.

Frightening. But not unexpected. Any president thinking along these lines needs to have that train of thought shut down by his peers in his cabinet, congress, and senate.

Must keep faith in checks and balances. But must also vote.

There's not a video of it included in the article. There is however several years of the president "just joking" at rallies only to turn around and do/try to do the very things he was "just joking" about. Why should I believe any of it is "just a joke," when it always seems to become a reality with Trump?

When you're president and you say stupid/illegal shit, people tend to notice. The fact that they always retort to "it's just a joke," shows me that they don't take the office seriously.

And because it's "just a joke," they soften the public into the notion that what they're suggesting isn't as bad or illegal as other people say.

Jokes are a way to test the waters and normalize ideas, before you go in to them entirely serious.

These people never actually take anything in any kind of context. They see the story on NPR or CNN which gives them their opinion for the issue and by golly they're going to hang onto that opinion no matter what any evidence says. Like when they claimed Trump told people to break the law and vote twice, despite the full video showing he told people to go to the polling stations and confirm if their mail in ballot had been received, if not, then vote in person. Then they started coming up with conspiracy theories on why the media narrative MUST be right. "he's telling people to try to break the law but check if they'll get caught first." LMFAO.

No way in hell would I support any president who would try to do this. It is not how our system works. Two 4 year terms and then get your ass out. Every government position, including SCOTUS, should have TERM LIMITS! I am tired of politicians making their government position a career.
