He was also on Don Lemons show recently after the debate saying he supports it. I feel for the guy and hope he recovers. But I'm still unconvinced he's capable of doing the job, as of right now. I haven't been paying attention to politics until the last 4-6 years or so, but I'm amazed at who runs for positions and gets them. Aka Trump, Biden, Walker recently and Fetterman or Oz. I'm sure there's more but those come to mind.

Joe Biden has already proven you don't need full mental capacity to be successful in the DNC. Fetterman can't be any worse off even after a stroke.

@eoten: To be honest, after Trump the standards became irrelevant. It takes a special kind of loser to fail reelection against a senile old man. Not that Trump isn't getting senile too. If you add the republican qanons then you enter in the "special needs" area.

Yeah. This could turn out very badly for the Republicans.

Trump’s undoubtedly going to announce his candidacy very soon, but he’s more and more, from all indications, appearing to be a losing prospect for ‘24. All the public comments I’m seeing on conservative outlets (like 90%+) say they’re tired of Trump, his time has passed, they want DeSantis, etc. Yet Trump still has a large enough base that he could threaten to split and start his own party or run as an independent if he doesn’t get the nomination, which would pull enough voters away to ensure a democrat victory, simply out of spite. And if he does get the nomination, he’s more than likely going to lose. These midterm result, at least partly, are a refutation of Trumpism. I think the majority are tired of his bullshit and divisive and antagonistic style.

I’ve no doubt that his little vindictive ass would destroy the Republican party’s chances, simply to satiate his own pathetic vanity. It would be beyond poetic to see how Republicans support of someone who never gave a single toss about them, but only himself, would come back to haunt them.

Strokes do NOT equal mental incapacity. Also trump has proven you don't need full mental capacity. He preceded Biden. Get your timelines straight.

I had a moderate stroke in Jan ‘21 and have no cognitive impairments whatsoever, only a few minor residual coordination issues after having had to learn to walk again which put me in the hospital for two and a half weeks. Depending upon where the stroke occurred, a person can come out relatively unscathed in appearance of normalcy. Even if someone has trouble speaking it still doesn’t mean they are cognitively impaired, only that the part of the brain that does speech has been affected.

More vote counts came in Arizona and Kelly is now projected to win the Senate seat by AP. The Nevada senate race is near dead heat but most of what's left are Democratic areas.

If Democrats win the Senate without even needing Georgia I'm officially declaring the red wave be renamed the red shart.
