I usually call stores in advance and see how much money / instore credit they'll offer me...compare prices and then go with the best....these days however, block buster offers the best deals...so I don't bother with the [prior steps.

I dont really care.

If I never play them anymore, theres no sense in keeping my games around any longer. If they wont take a game, just like MGS, then I sell it on ebay.

This is why you never trade games in. I either keep them, or straight up exchange a game with a friend.

I keep my games. Firstly, you never know if you wan't to play them again later, maybe a month, maybe 10 years. Secondly, if it really is that bad.... well, tough. Not meaning to sound up myself, but I personally never buy 'terrible games', I've gotten games that are not awesome, but only for cheap making it completely worth it for it's price.

I dont get it we have one of those rip off stores over here 2 its named cash converters or something and they will give you a couple of euro's for something you bought the day before for 60 euro's I mean come on if you trade in your games at those kind of prices you're an idiot. You can get at least half of your money back if you sell it through ebay or some other auction site. And if you still go to those kind of stores dont whine that you got ripped off because OFCOURSE they're gonna rip you off becuase there are so many people who are 2 lazy to put it up on ebay.

Anyway it's much more fun to keep collecting and give them to my childrens childrens childrens in the year 2073 and laugh at how ugly MGS 4 is! hhahah

oh hell yeah, I HATE trading my games in. one because I paid $60 for a game and when they scan it they look at me and say something like ''thats good for 3 dollars'' and I'm like wtf. I mean I got more trade in credit on a gameboy advance game than I do with ps3.:x makes me angry lol :P

In Kelowna, BC. You can not trade games in, but you can go 20 mins outside the city and do it. Its the wierdest bylaw I have heard of. I havent traded a game in in a few years, which is why my collection is building up nicely :D

It's still better than Gameflop.

If you want cash from them, they take out 20%, so IMO ebay is the best place to go. If not that, Craigslist.

maybe im a hypocrite. i refuse to trade games in anymore. probably cuz they offered me a buck and a half for some once great titles. but i buy used games often. sorry, but sometimes you just cant beat the deal. then again best buy and and a few other chains are starting to drop prices so maybe i will be buying new... old games lol. but like someone stated above. i will not be trading in any of this gens games.

I don't trade my games in to retail stores, they give you nothing and turn around and sell them for a couple bucks less than a new one. You should check out the online game trading site goozex, I've saved a ton of cash and unloaded games I didn't need.

there is link in my sig if anyone is curious.

i usually dont...BUT, today i went to pick up nhl 09 on the ps3. i brought along my copy of unreal tournament to see if i would be getting at least 10 bucks, to cover the cost on which i owed for nhl09. i got 25 bucks..i was shocked. so i told them to take it. and i was able to pick up dark secktor for free. so i ended paying nothing.

I refuse to trade my games in. I would rather it sit in my living room and never play it again than return in and know im getting bent over. The way that gamestop trys to push used games on me every time i go in there makes me like it even less.

Why not, the longer I hold onto it the more money I lose. It's just an issue of supply and demand you buy a new game your gonna get more then you go and buy another game for half price. So, instead of spending 120 on two games im only spending 90. As opposed to just holding onto it then I gradually get less and therefore I am getting ripped off.

I do. I definitely think that Ebgames and Gamestop should rent out their used games. Then when you go to take the game back they take like $2 or $3 off the price of the game if you buy it brand new. I think they should charge like $5 to rent the game for a couple of days. That away they make a little profit off of renting a used game and they get to make sure people really like that game before they buy it.
